Which one should I have on my team? Metagross or Heracross? Off topic, but I jsut noticed their names are similar...

Here's how I have them right now. Both were hacked using the Calculator so I'm not gonna bother with the EVs.

Metagross@Leftovers [Brave] (forgot what this nature does...)
    Attack 370
    Sp. Atk 230
    Def 296
    Sp. Def 279
    Speed 158

    Psychic
    Agility
    Earthquake
    Meteor Mash

I've been using this Metagross for a while. Agility, and sweep away. Psychic for more STAB and to cover a bit more ground.

    Heracross@Salac Berry[Adamant](+Attack/-Sp. Atk I think...)
Ability; I don't know? Guts or Swarm?
    Atk 383
    Sp. Atk 96
    Sp. Def 226
    Def. 249
    Speed 206

    Megahorn
    Reversal
    Endure
    Earthquake

Get hit, Endure, use Salac, make Reversal a death weapon with STAB, STAB some more with Megahorn, Earthquake filler? So...Guts or Swarm? With Swarm..it'll work almost all the time cause of Endure. With Guts, it'll work for both Megahorn and Reversal but it might not even get activated with no status.

So which one should I use? Metagross or Heracross?

brave is minus speed ^_^; I personally make my speed at 200 so after i agility I can destroy Jolteon with quake (who's 399 ;p) It's up to you to either use Psychic, or HP Fire/Electric. Psychic is completely anti-Weezing, while the HPs are strong against Skarmory.

Keep in mind that Metagross cannot possibly OHKO Breloom in one hit with your current moveset, regardless of psychic or HP Fire.

Heracross- definitely take swarm. You're useless with a status stuck on you anyway so why bother using guts. Swarm can boost megahorn too after enduring if you're against something immune/resistant to fighting. Watch out for quick attackers.

If you have (In the name of Mew forgive me) Blissey (*guilty feeling*) then take metagross, so one can handle defense and the other sp.defense perhaps. Of course, Blissey's best friend is still the other greastest walking sin on netbattle.

It depends in terms of who you need. Metagross can't sweep as well (can't beat a STAB reversal) but then Metagross is not forced to switch upon seeing Weezing/Skarmory, or any QAers. So it's still up to you.

Okay, Heracross isn't working for me. I've used it in 7 Secret Base battles and he got raped each time. I got Endure working, Salac kicked in but the attacks were too weak to kill (WHAT THE HECK?? REVERSAL HAS 200 [what it says on the Calc anyways] ATTACK POWER AT 1HP+STAB HOW IS IT NOT STRONG ENOUGH!?!?!?!?). The longest it ever lasted was 3 turns. Is their any other good Physical Sweeper that's not Hera/Meta c/g ross, Pinsir, or T-Tar? Erm...a Pokemon that's in R/S only but the moveset doesn't have to be R/S...it could be FRLG if it has to.

*walks off the punches/kicks/tosses/spit on/yell at/toss rocks/send bloodthirsty dogs/uses car in ava to run over/uses other 5 Pokemon to torture Heracross and laughs*

    Heracross not working? Strange... reversal from Heracross is one of the most threatening thing ever if you lost your QAer o.o;

Try... Medicham? Linoone (a bit risky but darn annoying once you pull it off)? Muk? *randomly throwing names*

Salamence can be good with Dragon Dance. 135 base attack, good speed and a great movepool could work in your favour. I'd watch the HP when powering up with DD though. Might not be able to last very long if you get greedy, and not at all when faced with Ice Beam. XD

Why don't you just lose the Endure/Reversal combo on Heracross if its not working for you? He has enough decent physical attacks without them.

    Heracross

    -bulk up
    -megahorn
    -brick break
    -hp physical, EQ

In fire/leaf he gets rock slide and swords dance. Oooooh... personally, I would make it Jolly. Speed is crucial and not bad on the old beetle.

Definately Metagross. I feel he has better stats and better attacks. With Psychic/Steel, he has a good Sp. Att. and good Def. A good overall 'mon.

Metagross has only average special attack. Both have excellent move rosters. And Heracross is easier to train since it doesn't need to evolve. It's all personal preference and how they fit into the team. The only really bad thing about Heracross is that it's a pain to catch.

Heracross is Skarmory/Weezing useless. Metagross has a chance to either be strong against one or the other. Heracross is capable of stat buffing with swords dance or endure/sub, and metagross cannot. Heracross is a lot better at surviving special attacks than Metagross, but metagross tanks physical a lot better too.

So really, whose stats work better for your entire team?

Using endure/reversal can be hard at times. You cannot get leech seeded/status effected, or else you're destined to fail. You can try sub/reversal instead which uses the same idea to work out salac and reversal. However, Sub/reversal cannot beat anything that's faster than you, while Endure/reversal, can.

Hmmm...*opens up Calculator, gives Hera Sub/Rock Slide and puts it in the game*

*bikes over to a Secret Base*

    2 minutes later...

OH YEAH. REVERSAL IS KICKING ***. GO SUB...and the occasional Rock Slide for flyers. Coulda killed them all if not for the Rayza with XSpeed. I just kept pressing A thinking Hera wouldn't have any more problems.

Just because a Pokemon isn't strong to Weezing and Skarmory isn't that much of a problem. Pokemon aren't sopposed to be strong to everything. Why are those two such a problem anyway? Just equip any special attacker with HP fire or electric for a surprise against Skamory and a strong special attack against Weezing. Sure Weezing can explose and stuff, but is it really THAT terrible? Skarmory has spikes and high defense. I thought spikes was out by now?

Weezing is the will o wisping version of Skarmory. It is only weak to psychic and only. Skarmory is at least weak to 2 things at once. It can haze while skarmory pseudohaze. It can sludgebomb OR thunderbolt/fire blast and Skarmory... can only spike and HP Ground those magnetons. Weezing is the Skarmory equilvalent that's not as extreme.

They can do the exact same thing: physical complete immunity with hazing powers, immune to ground and toxic

Yes a Pokemon shouldn't be able to do anything. But in this case, let's say if his team has no way to handle Weezing let's say, then I'll pick metagross over heracross. He's the only one who knows his own team, and what it's lacking.

I already have Weezing, Skarmory, Blissey, certain ubers, and so on covered. I was just asking cause I had one space left open on my team and I wanted either another physical sweeper on my team since I only had 1 so far.
