Here is my Heart Gold team, this team listed is a Red sweeper.

    Typhlosion - Level 100
Double Edge, Blast Burn, Eruption, Flamethrower

    Dragonite - Level 100
Outrage, Draco Meteor, Surf, Hyper Beam

    Tyranitar - Level 86
Rock Climb, Earthquake, Crunch, Stone Edge

    Mewtwo - Level 100
Psycho Cut, Aura Sphere, Drain Punch, Psychic

    Pikachu - Level 100 @ Light Ball
Thunder Bolt, Volt Tackle, Thunder, Thunder Wave

Lapras - Level 68 in training
Perish Song, Ice Beam, Brine, Body Slam

I am going to delete Thunder Wave on Pikachu for sure and replace it with Grass Knot. Dragonite's Hyper Beam is going for sure, I might replace it with Flamethrower to combat it's Ice Weakness. As for Typhlosion, I might replace Blast Burn with Thunder Bolt to combat it's Water weakness, as well as Double Edge for something else. Let me know what you think, I raised the team to beat Red and the E4, this team is not for competitive battling.

Your team needs a lot of work. I'm no expert but, I can't say much since you didn't post their natures. Also, Typhlosion can't learn Thunderbolt. Hope you meant Thunder Punch, and that's through a Move Tutor. Also, I'm sick of seeing Ubers or any other legends on teams. Personally, I wouldn't use Mewtwo even though he's one of my favorites.

For Typhlosion, definitely replace Blast Burn and Double Edge for something more reliable and something that matches its Nature. Ok well you definitely don't need 3 Fire moves. Try and mix and match to get better coverage. Eruption is a great move, so you don't need Flamethrower or Blast Burn. Get Thunder Punch and if you have the time, breed for Extrasensory. and Focus Blast is a great move too.

Again, I don't know your natures, so for Dragonite:

If its Adamant (or any other Atk boosting nature): Outrage, Thunder Punch or Ice Punch, Rock Slide, and Superpower are all good moves to consider.
With Dragonite's Highest stat being its Atk, it shouldn't be anything but Adamant or any other Atk boosting nature.

Tyranitar is pretty straight forward. Its another Pokemon with high Atk, so you need Physical moves. Crunch is good. Earthquake is great as well, however, there's so much more you can do. Get rid of Rock Climb. Try breeding for Outrage, or move tutor it for Thunder Punch or Ice Punch. Stone Edge is alright, but again I don't like the lack of accuracy. Rock Slide is more reliable.

No comment on Mewtwo because I don't like playing with Ubers...although if you follow the concept state above, Mewtwo should have a moves depending on its nature.

Pikachu is definitely hard to play with because its so frail. The Light orb as a held item is good. Volt Tackle makes it dangerous, but again you need to have moves based on its nature. Volt Tackle is only as powerful as its nature lets it. That said, it is a Physical move and Thunder Bolt is a Special move. Can't do both. Fake Out on Pikachu is always good.

And as for Lapras, Perish Song is ok, but its easy to avoid. Lapras is a bulky Pokemon, so try to level as such and not so offensively. I've had pretty decent results with RestTalk Lapras. But that's just me.

Typhlosion can't learn thunderbolt, however it can learn Thunderpunch from the move tutor outside the battle frontier for 48bp I think it is. Also if you want to replace Double-Edge Focus Blast is a viable option. I'm guessing this isn't competitive 'cos theres no Ev's or natures in this so post in the in-game section next time for teams like this. Although you'll have no problems with this team ingame haha.

EDIT: This post looks stupid now with Chaos beating me. -_-

Typhlosion is Timid, Dragonite is Bold, Pikachu is Doctile, Mewtwo is Relaxed, Tyranitar is Sassy, Lapras is Gentle. This is NOT a competitive team, I may face my friends every once in a while but I'm not aiming to be a world champion. This team will take care of the average player and every trainer in the game, including Red. I remember reading that Timid is one of the best natures for Typhlosion, correct me if I'm wrong though. I have no idea what the best nature for Pikachu would be, Relaxed is my guess since defense is the upgraded stat. I used vitamin ev's for every stat on Pikachu, Tyranitar, and Lapras, and a few on Mewtwo. I am pretty surprised that I was able to get Pikachu's total HP up to 231, since my other one only has 208 HP.

If your Typhlosion is Timid then physical moves are not the best choice then, seeing Timid decreases the Attack stat of a pokemon by 10%. And relaxed really isn't the best choice for Pikachu, mainly because even with a beneficial nature in defense it can get plowed into the ground by most stong physical attacks. And I'm not gonna' say anything about how your using the Ev vitamins, all I suggest is that you check out the Ev training guide on this forum somewhere. But if as you say this team is just for battles with friends etc there isn't really any need. :)
