Get it. The whole point of the new games are to bring back the Johto region, re-enhance it, add things to it, put in more functions, ect...
They're supposed to be many times better than the old ones, or so I've heard. Just go to some sites with info on it like Serabii.net for info on the subject.
Personally, I'm getting the game as soon as it comes out, but you can wait until a little after the 14th, or whatever floats your boat. They're supposed to be one of the best yet though.
So TL;DR: You should, because these will be a lot better.
It's pretty much your choice in the matter, but like everyone has said it's worth the shot of getting the game. It offers a lot and gives you the chance to re-experience the Johto adventure through the new generation of Pokémon. You can say it's more of a Crystal remake than Gold and Silver, as it includes many Crystal features - Eusine/Suicune subplot, Extreme Speed Dratini, Battle Tower+ etc. ;) Also, nothing says you can't purchase at least one version of the remakes and keep your Crystal version for nostalgia's sake.
With all that being said, plus what everyone else has mentioned above, I assume your question has been pretty much answered. If you would please use the HG/SS Help Thread for future questions about HG/SS, that would be great, thanks. So, no need to keep this open any longer really ...
