(HGSS) Can you replace the bad egg with a real pokemon?

Hi I'm new to hgss hacking and hopefully I'm posting this in the right place. I wanted to add a single new Pokemon into Pokemon Soulsilver without replacing any existing ones.

Now I know expanding the amount of Pokemon in gen 4 is near impossible so I tried finding an unused Pokemon to replace but the only candidate I can see is the bad egg. However from what I can tell, the bad egg doesn't work like a normal pokemon but instead more like an error handling tool so I wanted to know whether replacing it would basically break the game?

If the only problem is that the bad egg shares the same sprite as a normal egg then perhaps I could replace arceus' ??? type form or some other sprite? Again I'm very inexperienced in this type of hacking so sorry if my thought process is completely wrong.

Any replies are appreciated and if there's no way to add 1 new pokémon that's fine, I was just curious since I haven't seen anyone talking about replacing the bad egg. Thank you!
