Hi to everyone, i am Derpete and this post is a brief introdution on who i am and what i am doing.

I have experiences in programming since youth and now i am currently working at such job full-time; started romhacking 1 week ago when i putted my mind into starting this side-project of mine for fun, many of my friends have already contributed so far with sprites, game mechanic concepts and we planned a huge overhaul of pokemon red fire since to my early understanding was the most fitting for the project; now, in my current state, i am in trouble developing further cause of my weak knowledge of hex and rom hacking and as a solo developer i am a bit stressed of slowing the project down or not progressing at all (this is how i am and there isn't much i can do about it even if it's just a fun side-project and not actual work); so if anyone can give me tips or want to ask me anything i am usually quick to respond.

P.s. I am currently not showing off too much of our project since it's still in early development and it could also contain elements not resonable to share for a too young audience (not totally R18 but i thought it was better not to openly share it in my introduction post)

Hello, Derpete, and welcome to the forums!
I suggest you check the Fan Games section and ask for help here, so you will get more attention. Regarding the "not family friendly" elements, I think you can ask the related section's moderators about them.
How long have you been into Pokémon ?

I wish you good luck with your project!

Thanks for the reply, will ask there for more help.
For how long i have been into Pokémon? I think it was since the gba era but mainly during gen 4 and 5 when i was really hooked into pokemon, too bad gen 5 got all the recognitions a bit too late.

    Hello!

What are some of your favorite Pokemon? Do you generally have a preference for any Pokemon types?
Will you be giving any of them them a little touch up in the shape of a regional or Paradox form of your own?

Empoleon, Darkrai and Shaymin are my fav Pokemon from gen 4 and Victini from gen 5, i usually have a preference for Water types pokemons; as for the third question i guess you are talking about the romhack i am working on: the project will not have any Pokemon since is not inside the Pokemon world but mainly Monsters and Agents

    Hello!
I highly recommend you to learn decomp rom hacking, it's easier and reliable than Binary hacking.

If you are not aware what is the main difference between decomp and Binary, I will explain it to you in simple words.

Binary rom hacking refers editing the rom directly using many Tools Such as Advanced map,Text editor, Hex editor and more While Decomps refers editing the actual Source code of the game, unlike in binary hacking, you don't need Bunch of tools you only need a porymap(for map editor) and visual code studio (for scripting and coding).

I hope its help to you

Well since i have little experience to Romhacking, 1 week in at the moment, i am using such tools to move around and editing stuff and scripting, i saw how limitating was scripting with such tools and it was really annoying, is decomps able to work around such limitations and be able to actual do some proper scripting? I am down to learn it if it let's you have more freedom since i already work with VS every day and i would very much prefer to use it.
