Ho-oh

they showed ho-oh for a few seconds during one of the first few episodes of the first season... you can probably find the episode on youtube (it's probably the first one, if not than second or third)
 
Episode one. Ho-oh was the legendary Pokemon that Ash saw his first day. So, yes, he has made an appearance.
 
Ho-oh has been seen only in two episodes, and both the times only Ash and Pikachu alone saw it. First time was at the end of episode 1(Pokémon! I Choose You!) and second time was at the end of episode 275 (Gotta Catch Ya Later!). Other than that, Ho-oh also got mentioned in episode 2 (Pokémon Emergency) and episode 183 (A Ghost Of a Chance).
 
Hard to remember...

The only time I can remember seeing Ho-oh is on the first episode and the second last one before the advance generation (I think).
 
No fighting, remember he also appeared in the 8th movie, but he was a transformed Mew.

Ho-oh isn't that good anyways. He probably won't make a special appearance untill the world comes to a near end because of global warming or something.
 
Ho-oh is a phoenix and important to Ecruteak and Johto mythology in general. I never got why he didn't have a movie, I guess they were going to do something what with the whole 'Ho-oh is special to Ash' but scrapped it when third gen started.

Also in "Battling the Enemy Within" in Battle Froniter. Route 27 theme was playing then so how could I *not* know!? Haha, one of my favourite route themes
