Hello, hola, konnichiwa, or however they say hello in your language.

My name is Valentina or Vale or Tina, whichever one you prefer. I signed up on here because I googled "Pokemon forums" and found this one, and after lurking around for most of the day decided why not and join. I use she/her pronouns, as I am a Trans-Woman. Another miscellaneous thing is that I am a first-generation American and I am Half Japanese and Half Mexican. Also, the DT in my name just means Dragon Trainer if anyone was wondering.

So, I guess, I will answer a few basic questions, that are common on Pokemon forums. I have been a fan of Pokemon since Pokemon Red and Blue, but fell out of it around X and Y, and Sun and Moon, but Shield and Sword piqued my interest back by and I went and back bought all the games and played through them including the ones I skipped. Surprisingly a lot of my opinions changed on certain games. My favorite games are Black and White, and Black and White 02. My favorite Pokemon is Rayquaza, mainly because it of being somewhat based on Quetzalcoatl. My favorite type is, to no surprise, Dragon, and I usually try to collect every Dragon or Dragon-esque Pokemon. Favorite trainer in the series is Lance because he is the "first" Dragon Trainer and Champion, lol. I also, really liked the Orange Island arc of the anime, and I cannot explain why, lol.

Some other miscellaneous things are that I am big fan of anime, which is a given, manga, another given, and I speak three languages, English, Japanese, and Spanish. I also collect a lot of things, most of which is too long to name, lol.

It is great to see more fans who have been playing since Generation 1 join PokéCommunity. I started with Red / Blue too! My interest decreased after Ruby / Sapphire but I came back and am still here now, too! ^^

Black and White 2 are my second favourite, after Red / Blue (the nostalgia ^^). I love Rayquaza too (and many other Dragon types)! You might be interested by a pokémon in the Uranium fan game (unfinished but still a nice run to the League) : Coatlith.
But my own top favourite is Charizard!

Did you get Scarlet/Violet? Which starter did you pick?
Do you often stick to a type when selecting starters, or do you just pick whichever you like most?

I have "somewhat" tried them out. I have watched playthroughs and all of them, and there have a been few that got my eye and played, I forgot the name of them. But mostly, I just don't play fan made games. Nothing wrong with them, just aren't for me.

I got both. I originally got Scarlet, but then bought Violet for a really, and I mean really dumb reason, lol. I picked Fuecocco because of the Crocidle motif it has, but then quickly deleted my save and picked Quaxly because its final form reminds me of Pave from Animal Crossing.

Most of the type I look at the final evolutions to see what I would pick, so it often changes from gen to gen.
