The official remembrance day was Friday, but it's still important to remember what happened in the past and to be aware of the parallels surfacing today. There are people today who still deny that the Holocaust happened and people who are espousing Nazi-like sentiments. Jewish centers have received bomb threats. Swastikas have been seen many places. It's a scary thought that lots of people haven't learned one of the most straightforward lessons that history has to teach us: Nazis are bad, genocide is bad, scapegoating entire populations of people is bad.
Do you think that we've collectively forgotten the lessons that the tragedy of the Holocaust had taught us?
