Does slathering honey on a tree mulitple times, make it more likely for rarer pokemon to appear?

Yeah but not in staticstics. If you slather more Honey more Pokemon Appear but it is still the 10% appearance rate

Tha rarer Pokemon are Herracross and Munchlax

Exactly, I need a bunch of Munchlax so I can get Leftovers.

Ive given up on honey tree hunting
with my luck ive probably got more chance of finding mew than a munchlax...

    anyway
I dont think putting more honey on a tree helps at all because I always got the same results each time

Yeah, different people get different lucks, you just have to keep persevering.

Tbh, it's probably faster to start Diamond again and beat the elite four so i can get the easy leftovers and trade them to pearl and keep doing that.

It doesn't take that long to beat the game anyway.. =\

no i actually find slathering more honey works however i slather about 10 trees with 3 honeys and btw why dont you just GTS clone the leftovers???

I don't think cloning is very fair.. =\

    Putting more honey on it does increase the amount of rare Pokémon you find, however it also increases the amount of common Pokémon. For instanse;

    EXAMPLE:

If you want Munchlax (10% probability) and the other Pokémon available in the tree is Heracross (90% probability), then for every 9 Heracross's there will be 1 Munchlax. Lets say these 10 battles occur in 1 hour. (1 battle every 6 minutes).

By putting more honey on the tree, in the same hour, you may get 100 battles, but with the same probabilities. So for every 90 Heracross's, youll get 10 wild Munchlax. (1 battle every 36 seconds)

    END OF EXAMPLE

So, yes, in real terms, it will SPEED UP the chances of finding the Pokémon you want. However, it will NOT INCREASE the chances, the ratios will still be the same.

    Hope you got that.

no putting more honey on wont really help. one jar ought to do it
Actually more Honey does help, but it also helps the chance of more normal Pokemon appearing.

    Here's a tip:

Slather a LOT of trees after you get fly, marking down IN ORDER which ones you slathered. In about 8-10 hours (I sometimes go at 6), start returning to the trees IN ORDER, and check if they're ready, if they are, save before doing so, and click (saving will allow you to catch a male/female of a certain pokemon, it WILL NOT change the actual species that appears XD, very useful for Combee.) This way I got all of the tree pokemon, by slathering about 20 trees a night.

    I put 10 honeys on a tree and got a Cascoon =s

I put 3 on all the rest and one of them got me a Heracross.. =\

As is down to alot with Pokémon, luck. Its the way it works, less honey doesnt mean everytime youll get a rarer Pokémon, just luck this time.

So, how long does it take for a Pokemon to appear on a Honey Tree? I've always just walked by the tree frequently to check if the Pokemon's there or not, but I'm still unsure of how long it takes.

Hmm, well i know alot of stuff about D/P cuz i have read the Walkthrough Guide and the 482+8 Pokédex guide. But unfortunately, as I have not played them properly (only a quick mess around on it), i cant really tell you how long itd take. My example earlier, was just an example, so the time scale on that is wrong. I think a post above said something like 8-10 hours, but he had returned after 6 and found a decent amount of Pokémon. Trial and error my guess, otherwise someone else should post who knows about it. Saying that, gimme 5 to read the guide in abit more detail about honey trees, and ill let you know...

Alright thanks. Once I get through the Sunnyshore Gym, I'm going to see if I can get a Munchlax/Heracross/Burmy.
