I got Hooh from colosseum.... I wanted to change fire blast for sacred fire, but the move tutor wouldn't teach me... he would only teach me whirlwind and a move I forgot... why??? also, tell me a good strategy using hooh :D

I don't know about how Col works, but move tutors in FRLG and RS should be able to teach it forgotton moves including Sacred Fire. And it's Ho-oh and Hooh (looks so weird and wrong without the dash or u)

Stick on anything decent and Ho-oh will use it well... no strategy needed for an ubar who can learn almost anything useful but ice beam. =)

    Ho-oh [speed or atk + / sp.atk -] @ lum berry
    EV: anything?
    -sacred fire
    -earthquake
    -shadow ball
    -giga drain

Destroys anything whose name isn't Aerodactyl.

If I remember right, Ho-oh's Attack is better than his Sp. Attack, is it? So:

    Ho-oh@Liechi Berry
    Earthquake
    Shadow Ball
    Overheat/Sacred Fire
    HP Rock

    This one kills Aerodactyls...

    Or:

    Ho-oh@Leftovers
    Calm Mind
    Giga Drain
    Sacred Fire
    HP Water

Bah, I never used Ho-oh any way...

319 spA to 359 atk on neutral, so yeah, the atk is definately a lot better. Maybe HP flying to take advantage of it?

Well i myself find shadow ball alot better than HP flying...........
    despite the STAB
and IMO earthquake and HP rock are a must have.

oh.... I asked the move tutor again last 10 minutes... and from the list of moves ho-oh could learn were Whirlwind, Safeguard and Gust.... it didn't show Sacred Fire..... :'( is there a problem with my Ho-oh??? Mine currently have Fire Blast, Swift, Sunny Day and Recover (this is the default moveset when you get ho-oh) I checked the move tutor's list many times and all it said was whirlwind, safeguard, gust and the close option.... someone can tell me why??

I am sorry to inform you but the Ho-Oh you receive from Pokemon colosseum does not learn Sacred Fire. The move tutor cannot teach him it because it's not on the movepool of these specific Ho-oh's. The only way to have sacred fire on him is to get one from FrLg or by using PAR or Gameshark and using the move tutor code. Sorry (it was a disappointment to me aswell).

    That Ho-oh traded to FRLG or RSE should get sacred fire as well, as the data for Ho-oh within RS says that it's a lvl 1 move. Since within RS it has the move at lvl 1, you can bring the move back that way... because it's impossible for a Pokemon data to get altnerated or something O.o;

    I don't have Colosseum myself and don't know anything about it pretty much... but is this about move tutor within Colosseum or something? If it got onto one of the gameboy games, it will definitely get sacred fire through move tutor... O.o;

Well, if you go with HP flying, you can always go with Ancientpower =P

Ho-oh learns sacred fire at lv.77:laugh: uall didnt know that! or are u talking about sumthing else.

lol answer to the problem. I thought that it still has it at lvl 1 like GSC.

Meh... Netbattle never tells you what level =p All I know is that *eventually* it'll learn it through level somehow.

Sacred Fire ain't good IMO, the only reason anyone bothers to use it is becasue if its high burn ratio, but Sp. spounges or pressure legends will give you an even lower chance of doing anything at all...

Old School GSC type, covers most of its bases and still works. Only thing is to stay as far away from Aerodactly or Blissey as possible @.@!
    Ho-Oh@Salac Berry
    Sunny Day/Physical Attack
    Flamethrower
    Solar Beam/Giga Drain
    Recover

50% Burn rate is superior, enough for Sacred Fire to be used regardless of low PP. Its accuracy isn't that bad, and a 50% burnt is another way of saying 50% charm effect, which helps the entire team's survivability if the burn connects.

And I thought that the old skool GSC was...

    Ho-oh @ leftovers
    -sacred fire
    -earthquake
    -shadowball
    -thunderbolt

That one was used often, but I usually saw F-Blast or Flamethrower more often than I saw Sacred Fire. But hey, its just what I saw =\, there around tons of people on Netbattle doing different movesets.

I hate low-pp moves, but I always love having at least more than one move of the same type, and let the other two compensate, hence my (hopeful) Ho-oh moveset.

    Ho-oh
-EQ/Psychic (I don't have netbattle, and you'd be amazed how many people I know have armaldo with rock slide, I wish I had never traded those eggs...)
    -Flamethrower (For accuracy + PP)
    -sacred fire
-Areail ace (There should be more worthwhile flying moves, the best so far is a swift attack, and the equivalent of sacred fire with a high crit ratio, which only one pokemon learns)

well aeroblast can be learned by Smeragle! XD

And isn't poor grass type still poor as its strongest is either giga drain or magical leaf... solarbeam does exist but then it forces you to sunny day up.

And ALWAYS ALWAYS using 2 move of the same element if it's damaging is terrible... either keep flamethrower, or sacred fire...

Then please explain to me how I seem to win against "standard" and "balanced" movesets against people who have actually been competitively battling since yellow, because I'd really like to know.

Well don't we all want to do that...

    a) EV train your 6 Pokemon

    b) plan a good team (that's up to you which 6 team members, as there's where the fun is, but we can assist with movesets) The more OU the Pokemon are, the higher chance of winning (sad facts of truth)

    c) just battle...? that'll have to come by experience, knowing when to switch in, expecting what kind of moveset generally. OPB helps with that but it's only for OU Pokemon and obviously it's not complete as I'm only doing one entry a day.
