4th Gen How about this: Pokemon going over Lvl 100?

I think having Pokemon going over level 100 would be pretty neat. It would add so much more depth to the game. But most importantly, GameFreak could fit all four regions, Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and the new one all in one game without you maxing out at the end. I'd love to explore Johto again...

What do you think? Will this wreck anything?

I've never gotten any Pokemon into the 80s, I think the highest level poke I ever had was my level 78 Charizard on my Red version a long time ago.

You would if the game didn't stop after the E4.

Yes, I would love for pokemon to go to over level 100, maybe about 250?

that could be possibly fun if they took alot of angle's out of the gain's in leveling up and the stat's and make a whole lot more move's to spread out amungst these level's

Hmm. Doesn't sound bad. Actually, it sounds helpful for the game developers. One, it would be nice to have the four regions of the Pokémon world, and second, it seems like they're squeezing in the levels between lv.100 and lv.2. It will certainly add more depth into the game, but it may also be a little longer (not that's a problem for me though~).

As gs135790 said, 250 or so sounds good.

Well if the pokemon did, lets say go to 250, go over Lv. 100 it would be increadble hard to level up! It would make the game massive. And the game would really start after the E4! It is like Emerald. That starts after E4! But as most of these topics on this board. It won't happen! But i must admit i would like to see it!

It be great if you could get pokemon past L100.
L250 sounds good but...... It going to be a lot of hard work getting your pokemon to L250. :\

Am I the only one who thinks this idea sounds stupid (No offence meant.)? =\

Why would Nintendo put all four regions in one game? It would become extremely boring to go through 4 regions and beating 32 gymleaders. -.- Two regions is the absolute maximum to make the game enjoyable. And anyone who would bother training their Pokémon up to level 250 really needs a life. And how would Nintendo arrange the level up moves? Raising a Pokémon 150 levels without the Pokémon learning any new moves would be incredibly boring.

Absolutely not. Leveling that high is rediculous. Several Pokemon would have stats maxing out at 999, and if that cap was removed, then you would have some unbeatable Pokemon. The base stats are designed to for level 100 play. At level 250, the differences between stats become FAR more pronounced. Metagross' 405 attack, already very high, becomes around 1002 at level 250. That's rediculous.

That's another thing that just popped in my mind. Not to mention you wouldn't be able to trade Pokémon higher than level 100 to the R/S/E/FR/LG games.

If you think that is ridiculous, have you thought about the ones who get a percentage-based boost from hold items/traits? Imagine a level 250 Medicham with that + 50% Attack from Pure Power and another + 50% from Choice Band, not to mention Marowak with Thick Club or a Clamperl with Deepseatooth/Deepseascale (Double Sp.Defense/Sp.Attack at those levels?). I have to agree with Shorties here, this is one of the scariest ideas for the new games that I've ever heard and if they did implement this I would seriously have to reconsider whether I want to buy it or not. Haven't you people ever heard about quality over quantity? <<

Medicham is balanced by inferior speed and defenses, as well as the limitation offered by using the Choice Band. It's a powerful creature, of course, but no more than Metagross or Slaking. Marowak with Thick Club is also very powerful, but again, it's low speed balances it out. One actually has to use Zapdos, Jolteon or Ninjask to make Marowak actually useable, otherwise it falls too easily. And Clamperl has base 10 speed. It's never going to be a threat because it is simply too slow and has too poor a movepool. These Pokemon have high offensive capabilities, but they're always balanced by rediculously low stats. Even the insanely polarized Attack Deoxys and Shuckle have their weak points.

Levelling higher than 100 doesn't sound that good. It's hard enough to reach level 100, but imagine needing to go higher to reach the maximum level. What I would like is enough plot and play time to occupy a Pokémon level 2-100. I absolutely hate how after your Pokémon reach high level, all battles become incredibly easy. But I still don't understand why they don't use level 1...

Yuck. No way, 100 is and always will be and SHOULD be the maximum.

Have you ever levelled any Pokemon to L100? How about a whole team of 6? You know how long that takes? Now, double or triple the time and that would be your idea. It would be too long, too tedious and detract from the main purpose which is battling other foes, not spending time beating up the E4 for the 5000th time.

Just a few reasons why the level cap should stay at 100.

it'd be way to hard getting to lv250 they should just keep it at lv100

100 is quite a task to achieve but 250??
maybe 125-150 will be ok but not more than that.
4 regions?,though it wont happen, i like the idea
Ninteno'll get some more time to make a new game if that'll happen!!

    *does a spittake*

Pphh...bla....ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?? Level 100 is more than high enough. We don't need anything higher than that. Besides, like Wolt and a couple others mentioned, they need to keep the "cap" at 100 so that the trading feature isn't ruined.

There was a glitch in RBY to get LV. 255s, but they were just stupid. It isn't going to happen.
