4th Gen How come gastly won't learn hypnosis

I think I tried everything I can think of...

to get gastly to learn hypnosis...

according to this website:

gastly learns hypnosis at level 1 so I figured hey that means I got to breed it so I did...

the outcome of the level 1 gastly?
-spite
-mean look
-curse
-night shade

any one have any solutions because later on he gets to learn dream eater and night mare...

Take it to the move realerner to learn that move.
You'll have to pay him with heart scales.

They are attached to Luvdisc sometimes. Either catch a bunch of them or use Thief on them.

I was in the underground for about a half hour last night and got four of them.
Either I'm really lucky, or you can find at least that many in a half hour.
