1st Gen How difficult is Mew to catch in Yellow version?

I never knew of the glitch as a kid but I downloaded Yellow on my 3DS and I want to give catching Mew a try. I heard his capture rate is slightly higher than in Red and Blue but how hard or easy would you say catching Mew is once you finally encounter him? Should I avoid catching other Pokemon and conserve all my Pokeballs? How did you go about capturing him? Assuming you did of course.

Select Mew and Yellow and you can play out the scenarios yourself. In regards to balls, always good to stock up. I'd hold off on catching other Pokémon excessively until you've caught Mew though.

Thanks. I usually have an urge to catch all the Pokemon in a route when I get to a new one but I guess holding off till I catch Mew wont be so bad.

Hey man mew is super easy to catch. Just get a Clefable first sing works a treat. Also hes only lvl 7 so again super easy at the point in the game.
