3rd Gen how do i continue game after e4?

i have a gameboy advanced emulator for my computer so i can play pokemon without a gameboy... after i beat the elite four in fire red, the credits roll, and i go back to the title screen and press start and professor oak asks my name and... how do i continue after beating the elite four? is it possible i can't becuase its on my computer and not a gameboy???

maybe the game is not completely programmed, did the rom creator make any notes about that?

no, there were no notes, but i have downloaded several fire red roms and they all seem to work the same. but, what usually happens after the credits? on the gameboy, does it go back to the title screen? it did this with an emerald rom i got too...

I thought it saved itself after you beat the pokemon league, and then you can continue.Also if it has the clock glitch, sometimes normal saving doesn't work.

Yeah you shouldnt use the ROM save use the emulator save or if the ROM has the glitch it will erase it self.

Anyways Yeah it does go back to title screen becuase it saves

it happapened to me as well first dont ur firedred with a CD in ur cd-rom. press shift f1 before after u defeated da elite 4 then press space so it goes quicker (never save da game then reopen it as it in GBA) then once da credits r gone u will start off in pallet down again and if u have 60 pkmn or more u get da national dex. after da credits ended and ur screen is blank just press f1 then u should b in da place where u press shift+f1 then redo da insturctions i gave u (it worked 4 me)
