6th Gen how do i make friends after pss wifi battles?

    ok, so I was having a good battle/trade session with a random guy. we had some battles, and traded a bunch, and I would have liked to friend him, but couldn't work out how. all I could do is put him in my favourite acquaintances list. I know you can do it somehow, because after my first wifi battle I added my opponent as a friend. but now I cant work out how.

    any help would be appreciated, I want to make friends for when I reach the friend safari. (tho please don't move my post again, im not asking for friend code exchanges, I want help with a game function)

    I suggest to see if you guys can chat with audio I know thats a feature and exchange that way
     
    I've been trying to figure this out too! My partner was added as a friend by someone but we still have no clue. :S seems odd that it didn't pop up as an option especially after you traded/battled so much together.
