[Question] how do i patch rare candies onto a gen 2 rom hack?

    i am trying to nuzlocke the romhack Serene Crystal and i want to be able to patch in rare candies because i don't wanna grind. i've tried PKHeX and using a rare candy gameshark code, where neither worked. are there other methods i can look into so i can patch them in myself?
     
    To avoid issues, make sure you have at least one item in your bag (such as the Berry from your starter or the potion from Elm's assistant) before using any cheats. This should prevent bag-related glitches.
