How do you change the rival's name for a specific fight

    Hi, I want to change the rival's name that is shown at the start of the battle. (in pokemon fire red) I tried changing the name of the actual trainer to something else but in the battle the name shown was still the rival name.
    Is there a way to change the name only for the champion fight? thanks
     
    there are 3 versions of every rival trainer to account for all 3 starters, if you only changed one chances are you changed the wrong version, try changing them all to the same name. I hope this solves the issue!
