Question: how in the heck did a moderator get booted out???

The user in question got banned like a normal user would for breaking a certain rule to a certain extent, and as a result was given that ban period like any other user would had they broken the same rule. As for the ban reason that can't be discussed though, obviously. At that time he was outright banned rather than getting the moderator bar removed. Don't worry, he's not a mod but just... still has the mod status although that means nothing now.

usually moderators are the good ones when it comes to the rules!!! O_o

Moderators are usually chosen because they appear to be the most suitable for the job , but just as great members have been banned before, moderators could be just as easily. Just because someone is a moderator, it doesn't mean that they'd never break the rules :/ So I guess "don't judge a book by its cover" fits in here :/

People change, people do things we don't expect them to, people make mistakes, and funnily enough, moderators are people also. This member broke the rules like any other person can, it is just unfortunate that it was an offence which led to their banning. Now, given that we don't discuss bannings out in the open, as they are a staff matter, I'm going to just go ahead and lock this and let the replies speak for themselves.

Locked.
