i believe this question has been answered in previous threads. i believe it goes like this: you encounter a pidgey in the wild. there is a 1 in 8192 chance that the pidgey will be an alternate colour than a normal pidgey
so they're 1 in 8192 chance? yikes how rare! and even rarer in UK? tsk. *puts hands on chin*
well i have a shining mawile i found in sky pillar.
i once found a shining lairon before, but i think i accidentally ran away.
in silver i found a shining meowth but i think i also ran.
SO RARE!!! I've been hunting for shiny Swablu but no, all i found were blue ones...
Oh yes a question for experts:
If I want a shining Squirtle, for example, can i just save in front of his ball and pick him if i dont get shining i reset? Because I heard that Latios or Latias' color is determined at the start of the game.
for suritle, yes. everytime you pick up the ball, there is a 1/8192 chance o fits being shiny. that doesnt mean if u reset the game 8191 times then once more and it will be shiny, just that the odds are extremely rare. finding shinies are all a matter of luck. as for latias and latios, i am unsure. some say that Rayquaza can be shiny, but you have to reset the game each time. to get a shiny suicune or latias WITHOUT A GAMESHARK OR ANY OTHER CHEATING DEVICES, now that would be a feat
There is NO difference between the rarity of shinies in European, US or Japanese. The odds of encountering a shiny Pokemon are 1/8192. END OF DISCUSSION!
