Question: How should I make this game and is this even possible?

I have some programming knowledge and today I thought to myself that I would love a game where you go through every region and battle every gym leader and every Pokemon is available and maybe even create a few new Pokemon and then release a version later where it follows the Anime. OR just follow the anime from the get-go.

Anyhow.. is it possible to hack a rom to do that or should I just use RPG Maker?

Upon making the game, I definitely will post it here and also on YouTube for people to play.. but of course I'll have to beat the game myself to test for bugs and what not.

There isn't enough space to do this in a rom, so you're probably better using RMXP.

UGHHHHHH OMFG!!!

This isn't the place for posting such questions. Every other thread these days seem to be the same thing that can be easily fixed if someone actually bothered to search the forums more than four seconds. Community Questions & Feedback is a forum for the upkeep of the community. It's for questions, for suggestions, for feedback regarding the community as a whole; not a quick fix to finding where you go to do this or that. We have an entire section dedicated ROM Hacking. We have an entire section dedicated to Game Development. Neither of these forums are difficult to find. These threads are becoming irritating to both myself and the rest of the staff.

In the future, please take the time to actually search the index and look for the thread specifying your issue in that forum. Like I said, the forum itself isn't hard at all to find if you looked more than five seconds, which I can only assume is the amount of time you bothered searching. If you can't take the time to look for yourself, then posting a thread here isn't going to be a way to fix your issue or answer your questions. Members there are more than willing to helping you out, but posting things like this here in a completely irrelevant forum isn't going to get you anything.

I think I'm going to start infracting for posting these questions here, when it's stated in the forum description that this forum is strictly for questions relating to the community, because this is getting ridiculous. I'm tired of threads like these filling up the thread listing.
