How to code automatic EXP All (Gen 1)?

I'm thinking of doing a rebalancing patch; but my programming skills are extremely basic (even some of AVISynth's more complicated functions are beyond me). It would therefore be a very simple patch, where I would mostly stay away from any radical changes to the game's mechanics. It would rebalance the game to have a proper difficulty curve while still keeping the feel of the Vanilla Gen 1 games.

HOWEVER, I do want to change the way EXP is distributed. I wish to make it so that all Reserve Pokemon get 80% of the EXP that the Active Pokemon gets (regardless of how many switches were made during the fight), as I believe that would solve one of Pokemon's fundamental balancing issues. The series mechanics are HEAVILY slanted towards dumping all your EXP into one Pokemon and having them sweep everything in the main game. So I don't think just pumping the levels of enemy trainers will do any good; if anything, all it would do is make the game more tedious (like how it is in Digimon World 3).

So, I'm hoping it's possible to do that with the Gen 1 games, without all the dialogue boxes that come in the Vanilla version. I'd want it to just display "CHARMELEON gets 100 EXP" while having the game just give 80 EXP to the reserves, without having a separate text box tell you that.

Is it possible to do that? If so, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much, and God bless you all!
