If it's a private message you'd go to your inbox and click on a dropdown menu and click on Sent Items. Direct messages (on profile) can be viewed via view conversation if the user posted on your profile and you can find posts by clicking on a user's profile, clicking the statistics tab, and view all posts. Bear in mind it will filter out the older content if the user made a lot of posts.
