Well , I know very well that these games support only Local Play right?
When the VC games got released on February , I was so hyped that I just bought a copy of pokemon Yellow from nintendo eshop (you know , nostalgia and things , I am currently 26).
But soon realised , I cannot battle or trade with random people over the internet , this absolutely ruined my day and for a good reason which I can explain:
Back in the days , I was 12 when I was playing Pokemon Yellow in my Game Boy Color and it was easy to find other kids in parks , playgrounds and other places , just to challenge them to battle or assist each other on filling the Pokedex. Just owning a game link those days , would considered so cool!
But today , come on , we have the Internet. And what is worst, as an adult , it is IMPOSSIBLE to go to playgrounds searching for kids (not only abnormal or immature behaviour if you ask me , but you can easily considered as a pedo or sth worse) , or find people near you who also own 3DS and one of the games too. Because , accept the truth , we are the minority, most of people at their 15-30 will play mainstream online games on their PC or consoles or social media like Facebook.
So, is there any way to hack or emulate the Local Play feature in order to achieve this?
I even thought about a scenario of transfering the save of the game to an emulator , then you can "catch them all this way" by either hacking with gameshark/gamegenie codes or trading with another opened-window emulator, running another pokemon gen I game (more legit) and then just re-transfer the save back to the 3DS , but I find this abnormal since it is required for you to hack your 3DS in some way , I would prefer trading over with random people in the internet , or with my 3DS friends over the internet.
And I know that some people here will bash me because these games are not supposed to be played with online feature like this , and that would ruin this etc..but come on!
