how to use hidden power?

Is hidden power a good move? In Pokemon Colosseum I have run into some pokemon that use it to do some serious damage at times.

How do you select the right pokemon to teach this to? I know it has something to do with IV's.

The Hidden Power (HP) stat of a specific Pok?mon depends directly on its IVs. I has to do with remainders left over when dividing some stats' IVs, et cetera.

The monsters in Coliseum all ahve optimal IVs to get 70 power of the perfect type of HP. For example, a Gyarados has HP Flying -- STAB is a good thing.

HP's power can range from 30-70, I believe, and it can be of any type. Often, it takes lots of breeding to get the right type and power (70) of HP.

Are you sure? I think there is more than one way to get HP Ice at 70 power. I was able to minimise Speed on my Hariyama, while still having HP Ghost (70). Granted, your chances of getting everything right are pretty slim.
