[Other] How to use rom bases?

I patched my fire red rom using epsilon's rom base trying to create my own hack.But whenever I open the file with any editor an error message opens. I want to create my own pokemon maybe but the yape,apse etc arent opening. What should I do after patching and what are the main things to focus on first?

You will need to get the ini of that rom base and put either in your folder of rom or tool....

the artificial red rom base of epislion doesnt have the ini and MrDS's ini doesnt work
