I love the sound of birds chirping (outside) but I wouldn't want to own one

Birds of prey are cool but scary

I am an established bird owner. When I was born there was literally like, hundreds of birds we owned here lol throughout the years that has dwindled...

I personally have owned quails, roosters, ducks, canary, alexandrine parrot, cockatiels, budgies and I pretty much consider the ringnecks here mine too.

Everything died many years ago except one cockatiel and my alexandrine parrot. She is a wonderful bird and I love her except she's moody and mean a lot. But she's pretty good. I can snuggle into her head, put my nose on her beak, etc. She knows not to hurt me but she will snap if I do something that annoys her (she doesn't like aggressively attack me unless she's in an awful mood and I leave her alone). She is a unique but great bird. The ringneck is SO jealous of her though (ringneck refuses to go on me no matter what) and it's p amusing.

I once dreamed I was a crow... like I could transform into a crow like how Pokemon use roll out but when I did that I turned into a crow. It was so incredible. I wish I was a crow. :( It was only like six months ago but it was easily one of my favourite dreams ever because crows are SO cool.

I support the afl team, the crows.

I know most people are cat people or dog people but I'm legit a bird person. I don't like cats and love dogs but my passion is birds. :)

I wish I could own some birds! But right now with where I live, there's just no room for them. Plus, even if I could get the kinds I wanted (I have my eye on parrots and parakeets), I don't think the neighbors would be too happy with me about it...

I haven't owned a bird of any kind since I was eight years old. My parents had a cockatiel that I believe they'd gotten from somebody else, and a...canary, I think. It was some sort of yellow bird. But neither of the birds was trained all that well, I do remember always being wary of the tiel because he would bite. They were both given away when my family moved, and we didn't own any birds (or any pet for a while aside from fish) after that.

On the thought of falconry: if I could find a place near here that offered that, I would be tempted to take it up in a heartbeat. Handling birds like that would have been a dream come true for me as a kid, and even now I would still like to learn how to do so.

I've never owned a bird, but I used to birdwatch a lot when I was younger. There are several good nature reserves within about an hour's drive from home, and even though I might only go out with the intent to birdwatch rarely now - it's my father's hobby, and he goes every week, so sometimes I'll go with him - I still like keeping an eye out for things when I go out.

Lots of interesting birds in the area, even if the garden is a barren wasteland occupied by a pair of very territorial Blackbirds which terrorise everything else. We get Blue Tits in the nestbox in the back garden every year, though!

I don't think it's legal to own the birds I'd want to own though, haha. I'd love a pair of Goldcrests, they're my absolute favourites. We used to get a lot of them out in a tree across the road...which was cut down a couple of years ago. Haven't seen any around here since. ._.

Also, our Kingfishers are the best.
