Hey Guys, I was playing my Soul Silver today, and i was cleaning up my box, when i came across one of my Vaporeon, it had an undesirable nature and it had bad IV's so i proceeded to release it. But it came back?!?!? Can someone explain?

The reason is most likely because it knows an HM move. take it to the Move Deleter.

If the HM move will not be erased, it's because it's the only Pokemon that knows that move. give it to an HM slave, then try again.

Or, you know, just keep the thing.

Happy Pokemon tend to want to stay with you, be worried and care about your game characters well being.

The amount of times I have had Bibarel that love me...

This does not make sense. Why would it matter if it is the only pokemon the player has with the HM move? In my platinum my torterra is my only pokemon who knew cut yet the move deleter successfully erased it. It's the same generation technically so I doubt that will be a problem.

@OP: Hmm, well it sounds like you are pretty far in the game to have multiple eeveelutions so I am guessing having too few pokemon wouldn't be the problem. I can't remember what game it was but first pokemon I caught I decided shortly after that I did not want it but it would not release and it turned out to be because I had no pokemon other than my starter.

Try deleting the HM move as this person suggested since that could make sense. I can't think of what else could be causing the problem.
You could always just keep it for trading though, that's what I tend to do with pokemon I no longer want.

They came across it in their box though, so depending on how long it's been boxed there's a good chance it's not happy. I assume boxed pokemon wouldn't be, same as pokemon left at the daycare for a long time.
But if happiness really is the problem, you can just daycare it for a while I know for a fact that it depresses them.

It'll be because it's probably too happy. Even though a Pokemon is boxed it doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't have a lot of happiness. This all depends if you've trained it before though. Go take it to a happiness rater.

Ah ok thanks for explaining that.
@OP: Ok so as I said before, just daycare it for a while and that should depress it or just keep it for trading.

Why would you release a Vaporeon? :( Oh well. Answered now. Next time, please use the corresponding Q&A thread. In this case, it would have been 4th gen help thread.
