[Other] I can't seem to get any rom tools to load my roms?

    So I've been trying to do some poking around to get started on my rom, but I can not accomplish even the most basic of things, loading the rom into the rom tool.

    I've tried multiple FireRed roms with both the Map Editor of happiness, and the Gen III Hacking Suite, but MEH will not load maps on either version of the rom I have, and Gen III Hacking Suite returns errors when I try to open either rom. I also tried applying the hacked version of FireRed v1.1 from JPAN, but it only seems to delete everything on the rom. Am I doing something incorrectly? Is it because I'm running on a x64 system?

    Seriously confused, any help would be valued.

    I'm working with BPRE FireRed v.1.1

    EDIT

    I switched to FireRed 1.0 and everything is working fine, oddly.
