I do not understand the new feature of the Bonus mechanic. I dont understand the screen shots what they mean some of mine say 8/10 right I understand that some do not say anything but are coloured up, so does that mean I got the reward, and exactly what is the reward?

What bonus are you talking about? Are you talking about the medal rewards or the actual "Bonus" message that appears sometimes when you catch a Pokémon? The latter is simply a bonus for every 100th time you capture a particular species of Pokémon.

The medal rewards increase Pokémon catch rates based on their types. You catch 10 Flying-type Pokémon, you automatically gain a passive +1 bonus chance when capturing future Flying-type Pokémon. No one knows for sure right now what +1 means. It could be +1% or +10%. Either way, it's a bonus and all it does is help you.

Then if you catch 50 Flying-type Pokémon, your +1 bonus is now automatically upgraded to a +2 bonus. Then at 200 Flying-type Pokémon, the bonus is at +3. These bonuses are found across all 18 types. In addition, dual type bonuses are averaged. So if you have +2 for Flying and +1 for Rock, then you have a +1.5 bonus capture rate if you encounter an Aerodactyl.

You will not have any capture rate bonuses unless you unlock the medal.

For instance on Schoolkid catch 200 normal type pokemon
Mine says on the yellow banner +3 normalcat h bonus but do not know what the bonus actually is. In the yellow circle it says 661 rewards

You can have a "+1 Bonus" if you caught 10 or more pokemon of the type, "+2 bonus" if you caught 50 or more, or "+3 bonus" if you caught 200 or more.

if its 200 or more, it shows how many of the type you caught, so you caught 661 of these.

It is a small bonus, just a few percent, that makes it easier to catch pokemon of that type. If you now try to catch a normal-type pokemon, like ratticate or snorlax, it has a slightly lower chance of escaping out of the pokeball.

The bonuses work in tens, you must catch ten of 1 type, and then you get a slight bonus as mentiined. It goes up each time you unlock more medals.
