This is for my upcoming FR/WB/RS team.

    Tentacruel@???#a nature that boosts sp.def
    -Surf
    -Toxic
    -???/Barrier
    -???

(Shame it can't learn something like iron defense )

Steelix@???#A def boost nature. (not -att though)
    -EQ
    -Iron Tail
    -Sandstorm
    -???

(See above, only replace Iron defense with amnesia)

    Sornlax@Lefties/focus band#Dunno yet
    -Rest
    -Sleep Talk
    -Return
    -???/Body Sam?

It's been a while since I formed a team, and this one is primarily tanks/annoyers, though I could probably do some good damage with focus band/return combo. And while I COULD use HP moves, right now the trouble of breeding it to get one with at least 60 in the correct type is much more trouble than it's worth to me.

    Tentacruel- it does learn barrier which is iron defense ^_^; but tentacruel still sucks as a tanker... it really cannot regain hp o.o;

Steelix- Ewww there's iron tail! As good as a high power move with stab, it's accuracy is so crappy (worst than meteor mash) that it misses more than hits almost... its side effect isn't as nice as meteor mash's either.

Snorlax- nah... that's no good... dump it for Weedle to deal some real damage

Tentacruel's SP.def is insane, and I truly mean insane. That along with barrier would make it very powerful for taking just about anything you toss at it.

I got a steelix from pokemon collosueum (Don't ask) and it doesn't have iron tail yet. However, in GSC iron tail had an accuracy of like 80 I think? There's no other steel attack it can get that's worth using that I know of.

Snorlax is not meant to do damage, it's meant to stay in play for ages and get my oponent foaming at the mouth with rest + stabbed return via sleep talk. Or, I could go with focus band + return combo and deal a lot of damage.

I still think Weedle is a much better choice than Snorlax you know... everyone knows that Snorlax sucks.

Tentacruel has good sp.def (as high as evil egg) but then if you're boosting hp as well, then Tentacruel will have no EVs left for def... Tentacruel isn't too fast without Speed EV, and during that one turn the opponent can do some serious damage against Tentacruel before barrier kicks in.

    Just don't use a steel attack for Steelix... not all pokemon have to have STAB moves >>;

    Steelix- [atk + / sp.atk -] @ leftovers
    EV: hp, def, atk
    -earthquake/rock slide
    -roar
    -rest
    -toxic/rock slide

I've used snorlax lots in the past, and it's done very well.

Steelix, I don't need roar or rest. I only use rest in very specific situations, such as snorlax, and what I plan for steelix doesn't fit that plan. I'm making steelix mostly for an attacker, and I need a steel move for some of those highly annoying dual types that were introduced with ruby and saphire.
EQ, and RS I agree with, but I need a steel move IMO, and another attack, or sp.def upping move, as the ground type nullifies a lot of steel's special resists.

    Tentacruel@Leftovers/Chesto Berry
    Swords Dance
    Sludge Bomb
    Hydro Pump
    Barrier/Rest

    Or:

    Tentacruel@Leftovers/Chest Berry
    Surf
    Ice Beam
    Giga Drain
    Barrier/Rest

*Physical of Special Sweeper. You can also add Hidden Powers if you want.

    Steelix@Leftovers
    Explosion
    Earthquake
    Rock Slide
    Roar

*Sweep then BOOM! Fun, fun, fun!!

    Snorlax@Chesto Berry
    Rest
    Belly Drum
    Earthquake
    Shadow Ball

And Frosty, Snorlax should be swapped with CATERPIE. Don't forget that Weedle can Poison oppenents and gets STAB with Poison Sting. =)

I'm making a group of primarily tanks/annoyers, keep that in mind.

Tentacruel could possibly have some special sweeping moves, but it's mainly toxic + barrier then just stay in play as long as possible. that's why I was thinking something like surf OR sludge bomb, as well as giga drain.

I don't think steelix learns explosion normally, but with the FR/LG move tutors it might be able to, since metagross can. I don't see the point of roar though. I was planning it to use sandstorm and possibly a sp.def move, and then EQ with a steel move for adaptability, though explosion might suit it better than that, except for levitate ghosts.

Snorlax's rest is used to recover from attacks and status, but since it's going to be out for two turns, sleep talk could work very well in that situation. A STAB maximum power return can cause some REAL damage, even from snorlax, though damage isn't it's primary function.

The purpose of this team is to have your oponent foaming at the mouth before he/she gets to your third pokemon. I would use ludicolo with it's massive recovering ability, but that's so overused that people are actually using poison moves these days if they have no real room for areal ace.

    For Tentacruel I'd go with:

    Calm/Modest Personality
    holding lefties

    Hydro Pump/Surf
    Ice beam/Toxic
    Barrier
Mirror coat(might as well abuse its ability to survive special attacks)

Mirror coat works just as well on tentacruel as Milotic. Its high special defense keeps it alive long enough to send the opposing pokemon's special attack right back it them. Anything that takes you down to at least half the hp is as good as ko'd unless they have evasion boosts.

Dump at least 250 in special defense evs and rest in special attack and hp. With that set Tentacruel has staying power plus some attacks it can ko a couple pokemon in the process.

The reason that I don't want to use mirror coat, is that for mixed sweepers, I really have no way to tell whether they will use a SP or physical attack. But maybe.
