4th Gen i need help plz about pokemon hg/ss

[im a girl im 23 and ya i lovepokemon]

i downloaded both pokemon hg/ss emulators and i put in the black screen code and it works and all but it keeps on freezing on me. can anyone plz explain to me what i need to do to fix the problem plz reply back asap. im tryin to play the game and ill be up all night
