3rd Gen I need some team advice in Emerald version.

    Hello everyone. I was wondering about what I should do with my team in emerald version. I am not very far, I have just done the trick house in slateport. I just caught a Minun, and I don't know if I should train it to be on my team, or wait for a better electric Pokemon later on (when will I need one?). I have these on my team: Tailow lvl 19, Combusken lvl 18, Marril lvl 18, and Nincada lvl 14 (the hm slave). I don't know what to do. Please give me some advice. Thanks..

    edit: I just caught an Electrike, so I have that to choose from too.

    That is a great question! I think you need to train an Electrike. It will get very strong in the future. It will learn an electric attack in the future no worries!

    I want to give you a little more advice as well. You may want to train your Pokemon before battling Wattson. He is stronger in this game. I know it is hard, but he whooped me 9 times. I had to end up going back to Dewford Island and catching a Geodude in the cave.

    Electrike is the way to go he is very powerful and learns strong electric attacks
     
    Yeah Eletrike is probably the better option...too bad you don't have access to a pikachu, that was always my favorite electric pokemon.
     
    Meh. I like Electrike (Hey, I'm a poet and don't know it!) an' all, but he's not my fave electric pokemon. Voltorb->electrode is. But this thread isn't really about that. :P For where you are in the game now, electrike is definitely the one to go with!

    And as far as Wattson is concerned, your Nincada would be awesome, except its base stats are abysmal. You might want to invest some time into a Geodude, like the other guy said, or just beef up your electrike and make sure he has some good attack power. It might also help to have a fighter or a fire-poke on your team, as that magneton's rough. Good luck!

    Lol! *Bonks herself on the head* Daaaauuhhh... you mean Combusken's a fighter/fire type? It R teh Uber cool!!!1

    Lol! He's right, CSS. Cumbusken combined with a Geodude will own that gym. Good luck! :D

    I will have to train my electrike now, and I will take on Wattson probably within the next few days.
