    Plez can any one explain in a long post exactly what an EV is? What does it mean? Where can i get some? What do they do for me?
     
    Well sure I'd be glad to. I don't know if anyone else will help you, so I might as well. You may not know this but EV's play an important part in battle. They can be used to give any pokemon the edge in battle. EV is short for Effort Value, which is 0.25 of a normal stat point. After you level up a pokemon, you'll notice that it may gain more stat points in one area than another. Example: HP +4
    Attack +2
    Defense +1
    Sp.Attack +2
    Sp. Defense +2
    Speed +2


    This is because your pokemon fought more pokemon with their HP as a dominant stat, meaning there HP is their best stat. More Examples: Whismur wil give you one HP EV for defeating it, so if you fought four, your HP would elevate one point higher than normal.
