    A lot of people on YouTube claim that the Pokemon video games (main series) are based on the mange Pokemon Special (which is called Pokemon Adventures in English). This however intrigues me since Pokemon Red and Green (JP) debuted before the PokeSpe manga did.

    From my understanding it is the mangas are based on the games and NOT the other way around.
     
    Well how will you settle this? All you are going to do is continue the arguement. Though the games aren't based on the manga... The games are loosely based on the anime but the games are more so stand alone. And the same for the manga and anime. They are 3 different setions of pokemon. Also the manga isn't affiliated with the pokemon company. The manga is based on the stories of the pokemon world by individual authors. You can find out more here
    As i say Manga and the pokemon company are not affiliated and the games and anime are stand alone and do make referances to eachother. The Anime is following the release of the games however. Notice the anime for D/P/P is not completed all seasons yet D/P/P is finished. And we are eagerly awaiting HG/SS.
    The games are not based on manga.
     
    Yeah, that's enough information to know that the manga is based off the games. Enough said.

    The games are the original medium and everything is based off of them.

    Come to think of it, I've never heard anyone claim that the games are based off of the manga, but I've heard plenty of idiots thinking the games were based off of the anime due to their premiere/release in America

    Search YouTube Pokemon playthrough vids.
    It's usually someone correcting people who think the games are based on the anime by saying the games are based on the manga.

    I've heard the same thing too. I never thought one was based on the other. I just figured they all went together.
     
    Aren't the games first, and everything else is based off em x3?
    Youtube comments are just silly anyways though, I wouldn't trust any information i got from one O_<

    I think the games first right? So everything is based on them anime and manga.
     
    The games came first, based off an idea Satoshi Tajiri had since childhood and a comic he once published, which is almost impossible to find.

    The anime is loosely based off the games, while the manga is based off original notes for the games that detail the complete story.
