Story Introduction: This is a little novel I'm working on and decided to post up here for opinions and so people can correct my mistakes as I go along (considering I'm too lazy to go back and rewrite). The story does not go like a normal novel, it is VERY broken up, and there is a specific reason for that. I hope you enjoy reading, and if you find something that doesn't look like it should be there, please comment.

I will be posting updates WEEKLY. Also, please take note of the formatting, it is there to seperate different scenarios in order to stop confusion.

    The Willow Prelude

When I came back from death,
    it was morning,
    the back door was open
and one of the buttons of my shirt had dissapeared.
    - Derick Thomson; Return from death.

    I sent you an envelope
    pages tarnished with writing

    the edges overfilling

    with words of affluence.
    - Unknown.

The frame captured a boy as he lay there, his eyes fixed on something not so far away. The day was blessed with autumn leaves, and the simplest cold breeze. As you stare on the boy, you notice something changes, it is not a physical change, and no one but the camera notices it. He is overtaken by something. The visual turns to static, all that is head is the crashing of a building, and then, screams. That day will never be forgotten.

    From then on, darkness.

Tonight on Ten News, a young boy, the only survivor of the Eureka tower destruction, the only one who can answer any questions regarding the incident. But the catch is, he can't remember anything. Footage shows he was right in front of the building when it happened.

    "No, I can't remember...

I don't care what the footage shows, even if it showed me in the middle of the building, I don't remember what

    happened.

Deep within the unconscious mind of a young boy...

See that building over there kid? Half of those frail minded classmates of your are in there. The ones that always hurt you, annoy you, keep you from doing what you want to. Let me take over for a second, I'll make this scene much more happy.

    Passage missing.

Within the boys mind everything went blank, all he could see were those rare fantasies of peaceful things.

A nice ocean scene ----- the countryside

A bunch of leaves on a plant ----- passage missing.

"When I woke up I had the weirdest feeling. I couldn't remember anything that happened yesterday. And unfortunately my parents were out of town, so they couldn't give me any clues. The thing that shocked me was the news, my face was all over it. 'The only survivor of the Eureka tower crash'. I was on the security tapes, but they didn't show how I survived. They went blank."

    "What was your initial thought?"

    "I've got no clue".

A new development in the Eureka tower crash. Bodies identified as a local school excursion group. That very mysterious boy who survived was also apart of that. Why he was the only one outside is yet to be known.

Government officials are questioning the boy why he was miles away from his school group, and whether he was involved in the crash.

Some people have branded this a terrorist attack, and the boy has been labelled as a key instigator.

"Last question kid, what's your name?"

    "Id, my name is Id."

    Id.

The night was brutal. Hard winds were smashing trees around. The sound of hail was getting louder and louder. Id was completely unaffected by this though, he would continue to sit in the corner and ponder the outcomes of still being alive tomorrow. The news was right out front his doorstep. Those secret white vans drove by every few minutes. The government were on him. They thought he blew up the tower. A fifteen year old kid. The horror was, it was him. Technically speaking. He heard a voice and he listened to it, which later he found out was a bad idea. A drive at the back of his head fulfilling his worst desires. He wasn't a favourite at school, but the constant torment eventually got to him, and when someone, something offered to take that all away, well, who wouldn't listen? Sooner or later, the realization that he wasn't going to to live freely would come. You can't fix bad things with something horrific. Luckily Id didn't have to deal with guilt. The blood wasn't on his hands, the only thing he knew was that he was sitting outside the tower, then he went blank, then he woke up at his home. Somewhere in between all that, the Eureka tower crashed. The only thing he knows right now is that whatever happens, he will be on the receiving end. Something was going on though, and it was right inside his head.

"Don't you feel better now Id?"

    "No, I feel worse."

"But I ended your schoolyard torment..."

"And killed thousands of people while doing it."

"I can make you stronger, I can take away all the hurt!"

    "Just, leave me alone!"

    "Never, Never!"

And that's precisely the moment Id screamed.

Alright, here is my new update as promised. This is basically the actual story going on here in a timeline. Comments would be appreciated, but it seems my story isn't attracting that much attention :o, don't expect me to give up though :P.

    Chapter 1

"Hey loser!" screamed out another school boy, he had a big build, but he was evidently the type with no brains.
"What?" replied Id cautiously, he knew he was in for something, and it wasn't going to be good. With no pause, a kick to the stomach. It left Id on the ground for a few minutes while everyone walked by to go to their classroom. One person did come though, a girl. She had long smooth red hair, a face with all the right features.
    "Are you okay?" she asked.
"I'm fine..." the words barely came out of Id's mouth. The girl smiled, and dashed off. That was the first time Id felt some security at school, whether it was his last is debatable. The weather was a mixture of good and bad, and in the outskirts of Melbourne that's all you could expect. Dark clouds, but warm. Very humid. When Id finally did get off the ground, he realised he was late for his next class. His shirt was ripped, but nonetheless, he went.
"What happened to you?" the teacher demanded an answer. Her name was Mrs Ull, she was the nice one. Id glanced to the boy who was responsible, sitting at the corner of the classroom, and then back to Mrs Ull.
"Nothing... I fell..." he declared. Mrs Ull frowned and told him to be seated. Id was one of those kids that would just sit and watch the clouds. He was oblivious to the papers beind thrown at him. But Mrs Ull wasn't, and she sent the kids out, meaning Id was in perfect peace for the time being, that is, until Mrs Ull declared they would be going on an excursion to the Eureka tower. At this point Ids eyes bounced, his pupils grew smaller and larger frantically. After this, the rest of the day was a blur.
    Passage missing.

A piercing light brought Id back to conscious. He stared straight ahead at the blurry figure.
"You got a mighty big bump there, but the guy who did it is taken care of." All the sounds crackled and fogged out, but Id understood. He got a hit to the head by someone, what he did to cause it he doesn't know. Infact, he cannot recall the last few hours. But now he also has blood on his shirt.
"Here's your form for the excursion." The image would become clearer, and Id recognised the person infront of him as Mrs Ull.
"It's two weeks away, but pay ASAP."
"Alright miss." Clearly Id was still half knocked out, his voice sounded drained.
"Alright then, have a safe walk home." If only he could, questions would scour through his brain, and it wouldn't help that it started to rain. Now came the paranoia. Thought soaked, Id did make it home safely, and the first thing he did was grab some money for the excursion, to get it off his back. A note on the table confirmed his parents went out of town that day.
A shower would prove enough to sooth Id's mind. A small refreshment for what was a big day. Next he would spend an hour watching the television, oblivious to what would happen next. A rock smashed through one of his windows, that same boy that ripped his shirt was responsible.
"Come out and player loser!" he screamed. Id's heart pounded rapidly, adrenaline took over him, he blacked out, at least that's what he thinks. That drive in the back of his head took over, the weather became ferocious. The wind increased automatically and a tree snapped a few metres from the house, something would guide it to the death of that boy, and from that moment, Id regained consciousness, only to see the boy dead, in his front yard, a 40 foot Oak tree crushing his whole body. That shower would quickly come again, but this time interrupted by the sound of sirens near hsi home, and fast approaching. Id did the smart thing, he rushed to bed.
He was woken by the sound of knocking on his front door, and he made no hesitation in causing the person to wait. When he finally did reach the door, he noticed it was a news reporter assisted by a police officer. The officer was one who spoke first.
    "I've just got a few questions if you don't mind. Why is it you have a smahshed window with a rock on the window ledge, as a boy was found dead on your lawn?" Id calmly replied;
"He came to my house and smashed my window looking for a fight, he got what he deserved, he was a punk."
"It would be wise not to make accusations." Id then crushed the hope of anymore questions with a bold statement.
"Sir, you are the one implying I somehow crushed the guy with that massive tree. Now if you don't have a permit to be on this property, could you please leave? I have to get ready for school." And with that the officer did leave, knowing Id was right. But Id noted that he had reminded himself he had to go to school, it choked him up in the inside, and then again, Id lost consciousness.

"It's better now isn't it..." spoke a voice from deep inside Id.

"What're you talking about?" Id replied quickly, his words coming out stutters.

"I helped you, with your problems..." The voice had a menascing tone.

And with that, the brief conversation had ended, but it revealed so much, and left so many questions.

New update, not very big, but yea.

    Chapter 1

With that, Id knew that he wasn't the only one who had conscious thought within himself, there was something else there, and it acted alone. He scrambled through different possibilities in his mind, and he tried to somehow reveal what was going on, but with no luck. Constant bursts of thoughts went unprecedented and none of them would give the slightest clue about what was going on, for now, Id had to live with it, and hope that sooner or later he might just find out what's happening. But for now, he had to go to school, and he realised that once again, he was late.
When he arrived the sun flew out and blew away the clouds, no one was waiting for him, not until he stepped into the classroom. The teacher briefly acknowledged his present, marked him off on the roll and gave him the note that the principal had requested her to give.

Id, please report to my office
    whenever you have the time,
there are certain matters we must go over.
    - Principal Reary.

Id decided it was best to get all this out of the way as quickly as possible; after all, Principal Reary is a reasonable man. Tall, morning shadow, looks part Spanish and has very strong principles. On the way there he spotted the darting eyes from all the classrooms that recognised him as the kid off the news, they were curious, they had every right to be, news reporters never tell the story how it is. Upon arrival he noticed there were three people inside the office, thought their figures were partly blurred, their faces unrecognisable. A young lady working at the office spoke out,
"Mr Reary will be with you very soon, please be patient."
She had a nice voice, it soothed Id's ears a little, that is, until he head Mr Reary ask the assistant through phone to bring Id inside. And he followed the command without hesitation. When he walked in he noticed two very depressed looking parents, without guess they're probably the two with the dead son.
"We all understand you had no part in this Id, we just wish to clear some things up. The parents said they would feel much better if they understood the circumstances of what happened." Said the Principal, he was the only one who could open his mouth at that moment.
"Well, the wind was so hard it snapped a tree down the road, and that was the very tree that crushed their song" replied Id in a monotone voice. The father then spoke out.
"But that's impossible, it wasn't a bad day..." his voice draining with each word.
"Well, I'm just telling it like I saw it." Id replied with the same voice as before.
"We're sorry out son broke your window, it looks like his cockiness was his demise..." the mother desperately tried to break the tension.
"I'm sorry Principal Reary, but can I go back to class?" asked Id.
"Sure thing." And so Id walked back down the corridor to his classroom, those very eyes that stared upon him before staring yet again. Id this time simply stared straight forward, sending out the signal that he doesn't care what they have to say. When he got to the classroom he noticed his classed wasn't there, no note was left on the window as to where they were, and there was nothing he knew about a class activity. He turned around to head to the office, but no one was there. In fact, he remembered not seeing anyone in the classrooms as he headed past them. He decided there could be some kind of evacuation drill, so he headed outside. No one was there, not a car in the world, not a single person to be seen. Something had happened, something unbelievable. He was stuck wandering the world inside his own mind, and then he heard strange noises, he quickly turned to see if anything was there, there was nothing. Until, a voice.
"Hello, Id." The voice spoke out, echoing in the emptiness that the world was filling.
"Where am I?" replied Id hesitantly.
The voice continued, "You are here, in the world."
"No, there's no one around, this isn't real..." replied Id.
"Look to me" said the strange voice. And so Id turned around, only to see a figure exactly like his own, only shadowed, when he tried to run to it, nothing would move, he would run on the ground without moving.
"There is no point to it Id, you must understand, I am more than a mere mental image..." the voice penetrated everything in this new fantasy world, this was when Id started to become scared.
"How do I get out?" he shouted, wanting to be freed from this torment.
"Only I can decide how you leave, and when you leave, right now, time has stopped. I can do whatever I want to you, torture you how I want, until you realise you need me." Id became increasingly impatient, and the flooding of his mind wouldn't stop, when he closed his ears and covered his eyes, he felt water. He was falling deep into the sea, nothing would make sense.
"Do you understand Id?" the voice continuing to harass Id.
He grabbed onto his neck, gagging, trying to find air, as it seemed he would drown in his own mind. And then, he was back where he was before, that empty corridor.
"How do I leave!" his words bubbled from all the water in his lungs, and yet the scream was heard, but what was most frightening was the next few words heard.
"You leave." The voice softly said. And with that, Id fell back into what was reality, water splashing all over the corridor in which he once set foot, he was crashed onto the ground and his teacher was standing at the door wondering what had happened.
