in need of a gengar MS

i'm playing sapphire and would like some help with my gengar~ psychic, shadow ball, thunder bolt, and sludge bomb are his moves right now i would also like item suggestions cause right now he's holding amulet coin

nightmare/dream eater

next time u post a moveset make sure u post personalities + items + EVs
unless ur subpunching don't waste gengars great SpAtt

EVs - Sp, SpAtt ,some Att if ur punching but is it needed?0.o

destiny bond/will-o-wisp


U could also add hypnosis for some annoyance but its accuracy sucks too much.

Last I checked, the McGar standard was:

either + speed or + attack personality
@ Lum/leftovers

Thunderbolt
Shadow ball (As far as I know, SBall can do well against incoming Psychics and other Gengars, and uh, yeah O_o)

with EVs in Attack, speed, spA. After all, you can't Fpunch without Sub...

of course you can! against a Blissey, you're gurantee to get one punch off ;p most of them won't have ice beam to stop the punch. Plus I personally will prefer giga drain just to hit the highly irritating Dugtrios and Swampert.

Anything that is going to kill me dies with me. Works okay so far...

I prefer using Salac Berry to make sure I get to use Destiny Bond before Gengar has fainted. I haven't tried Focus Punch. I've been fairly satisfied with Haze.

i'm sorry but the McGar has failed me too many times
way too many times................
but i could see how it would come in handy [zam, skarmbliss anyone??]
But as for me a nice Subpunching/special gengar works best...................

True, although against Dugtrio shadow ball and Fpunch will work equally well off its low defense :x
