.ips question

    I have lunar ips and i have the ips file/rom/emulator. I have gave the .gba file the same name as the .ips file (apart from the file extension)and i have patched the .ips to the gba file with lunar ips. And then it says file successfully patched. But it wont work when i load it up in vba. All that happens is the screen is completely white. Please help ... i have watched videos on youtube and i have read the thread about how to patch the files and followed the instructions exactly(maybe not...)plz help
