Is it possible to change screen color tone during battles?

    Just something I'm kind of curious about, was thinking basing a city around Noir Films - and there's a screen tone effect that makes everything grey to match the theme and I was wondering if it's possible to have the battle scene be affected by the grey screen tone somehow?
     
    You could try making the battle background and battle platforms grey with a picture edit program like GIMP.

    Well, making the background grey isn't a problem.
    But I guess what I would like is a way to make the pokemon switch to grey-scale so it looks like an old detective movie.

    Though looking at it now, I'm kind of unsure that would look too good anymore since everything would bleed into each other.
