Hey im new here and wanted to know what you guys think of my team. And any tips would be welcomed.

    Scyther Lv 39
    Red Gyarados lv 39
    Onix lv 39
    Ampharos lv 40
    Typhlosion Lv 40
    HO-HO Lv 40

You may be wondering why they are all so close together in level except Ho-oH.

Basically i train my pokemon to grow a level and then put the weakest at the front and train it to match the level of the strongest and switch my pokemon accordingly.

With HO-OH he was caught at Lv 45 while my pokemon where at Lv 30+ under 35 mostly.

And im now in kanto with 3 badges there.

I did have a raticate but switched it for Onix earlier

So what do you guys think?

Unbalanced, underleveled and you didn't write your movepools so..., I'll write down what you need:
If you want to keep you scyther and onix, evolve them! Scyther is good, bit Scizor is a God! Onix sucks bigtime! It has terrible defence for a rock type, and it's sp.def. is so miserable that lvl. 3 zigzagoon with surf pwns it!
Gyarados is great and the best movepool for it is this:
    Watterfall
    EQ
    Dragon Dance
    Ice Fang

Thyplosion is good, but there are better...
    Flamethrower
    Eruption
    Brick Break
    Hidden power/Will-o-wisp

Ampharos is great, and will be a HUGE help
    Thunder
    Light Wall
    Thunderbolt
    Focus Blast

Ho-oh Isn't very good and you should swich it... but that's my opinion cause I don't like legendaries!

    Dragonite... doesn't need explanation...
    Thunder
    Outrage
    Flamethrower
    Giga-impact

Last one is one of those two, if they evolve... My recommendation is Scizor (Slash, Swords Dance, Steel Wing, X Scissor)!

Well if it's an ingame team then anything will work...just have fun and choose your favorites :D

I only chose HO-OH to get me through the E4 and is the strongest member of my team. It was a choice of him or pidgeotto to be my flyer. And HO-OH had the strength advantage so he won. Dont use him much tho.

Is scizor really that good? He seems ok to me i guess i just go for looks more than anything. And i missed the dratini in blackthorn haha might get another dragon pokemon if possible.

Since this is an in-game team, I'll just move this to the right place for you.

If anything though, I would suggest some serious grinding. The Kanto Gym Leaders have much higher levels than those back in Johto and could easily stomp on your team if you aren't tough enough. Your team otherwise is pretty decent, though moveset is also important, which I expect many to help you on.

If you can do the trade-evolutions, you'll have a good team. Just make sure that Scizor isn't hit by any fire attacks, or at least use the appropriate berry... Rhyperior is a solid option as well if you're worried that Steelix isn't strong enough.
