my friend chris told me that if you beat the elite 4 150 times, you get your own gym in pallet town....i was kinda having doubts that this is true, but i need to know for sure...

I don't know for sure, but it's not very likely. If you had your own gym, what would happen? Would random NPC's walk in and challange you every hour? I think your friend's just bluffing.

I'd have to say that i doubt it was made in Pokemon R/B/Y, or even R/S/E, because this is in other. Ninteno wouldn't do that because that would just be silly, because if it was in D/P then when you did wifi everyone would have a gym, and it would be even more ridiculous in other generations. So if i were you i would go find your friend and sock him square in the shoulder.

This kind of stuff makes me laugh. The gen III games have been out for what...almost 4 years now? We've found everything. We've dissected the code. We know EVERYTHING thats in the game. It's not in there. Done. Kaput. Finito.

Yes, this rumor has been floating around. My friend also told me this, but from what I understand, it is very unlikely. I've actually known people who have tried it but it didn't work, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Even if you beat the Elite 4 1000 times, you will get nothing but a good bunch of EXP.
These rumours are floating around a lot, so you shouldn't pay much attention to them.
