Is Vista Ultimate worth it?

    I was just wondering if I should get vista ultimate for my new laptop.
    The laptop I'm getting comes with Home Premium.

    I've heard a lot of good things about Ultimate, so I'm eager to see what you guys think.

    Is it worth it?
     
    Yes, and no.

    It depends very intensely. If you have very good performance, RAM, Space, and Graphics, you should be OK with an Upgrade.

    However, it is not recommended if you don't have that much. I'm using it right now, and it is nice. Just keep in mind, it WILL take some time for you to adapt to it if you upgrade.

    Plus, why not have the best of all worlds? *shot with a Dragunov*
     
    I'm not upgrading from XP. I have heard about some disk encryption thingy. What is that?

    Anyways, you are right, AdvanceK9. Why not have the best?
     
    I think you should just keep home premium, you won't be getting much more by going Ultimate.
    If you do have a few hundred dollars to spend, buy a monitor for your laptop.
     
    Home premium should be sufficient for most users. the only real advantages Ultimate has are some of the extra Business features and the ability to have a multilingual user interface. At this point in time, I'd recommend staying with Home Premium, besides Windows 7 should be out within the next 2 years.

    You should keep Home Premium.I am using Ultimate and it wasn't worth the extra money because it's extra features are more usable for business matters plus Ultimate eats up system resources and takes up more disk space.

    I agree with this. If you don't already know the extra features of Ultimate and why you need them, then there's really no reason for you to upgrade; you'll be content with Home Premium. Spend that extra cash on something to compliment the computer. :P
     
    Um I don't think Vista Ulimate is worth it if u have Windows Vista home preinum becuase just like what lighting said, U won't be getting much. But It's ur choice to upgrade it.
     
    I think its better to just wait for Windows 7 that will be a much more faster and compatible Vista =P

    Thats my computer and it lags occasionally if i'm doing stupid things like iTunes + Photoshop + Watching Anime + MSN (which I do quite often XD)


    Though you dont need as much space as I've got :/
