Welcome to Pokecommunity's Get-Together 8 iSketch Competition. Whether your in it to win it or here for some doodling fun, iSketch is a great way to get together with friends and polish up those Pokemon terminology. Artist or not iSketch is a game where everyone can enjoy and have a good time.

WHAT IS ISKETCH?

Players take turns in drawing a word or words (using a mouse or tablet) while the other players try to guess. Puzzles come in over 20 languages and over 200 themes.[1] Difficulty level ranges from easy to expert. Guessers score when they solve the puzzle within a short grace period after the first correct guess. Artists accrue points for every correct guess within the grace period.[2]

The object of the game is to draw a word known only to you, and based on your drawing, other players try to guess the secret word. You can use any artistic method to make your drawing easier to guess. However, you are not allowed to use non-artistic clues, such as writing letters.

RULES
- No Flaming, Bashing Other Players, Pokemon etc.
- No Cheating (Use multiple browsers to cheat etc.)
- When drawing, no giving away the answer through letters/numbers/etc. Letters and numbers are allowed as part of the drawing, though. Anyone who gives away the answer will be skipped, and doing it later on results in being booted from the game.
-And Basically Have fun!

Times will be down in EST time. I know the last time I had trouble finding a good Timezone converter so I've got one here for you. There were quite a few who missed out due to being at a way off timezone having missed the allocated times.

NEW TO POKECOMMUNITY ISKETCH
We'll be holding some Team iSketch this time round. Team iSketch places the next two people in the draworder to draw at the same time as each other. The two players work together to let the rest of the players know what the word is.

From my own experience, team games can sometimes be risky because one of the artists might draw, well, you know, and sometimes OPs accidentally kick the wrong people. But in this case it would probably be easier to tell who's in the wrong because that person would likely not be from PC and whatnot. Overall, it's pretty fun if both people cooperate, so I say we should go for it :D

Other than that, everything looks good! And remember to change the introduction text if you don't want to confuse players :B

Edit: Oh yeah, are we gonna give out a Participation emblem again this time?

My iSketch username is iKing!. :P Like Hiroshi said, it'd probably be best just to try to stick with what's been done in the past, although maybe we could try switching it up a bit for one or two games if things get boring.

I'm pretty sure I'll be able to take any shift besides Evening, because I have to help out at my church around then, iirc. But I could definitely talk the morning shift if no one wants to get up that early. I dunno, I'll most likely be on as much as possible over that time, so if I'm absolutely needed I can be there.

I might try it out at 1 game and see how it'll go, if we use it in future iSketch events or not.

BTW, have you guys noticed the changes to iSketch. They added a Undo/redo button as well as a blur.

But I don't know if any of you noticed but it seems like when you drawit's not as smooth as it was since last iSketch - Like I'd draw a circle and the edges seem straight .. Have you guys noticed that?

I don't go on iSketch enough to notice any changes, and I'm not the best drawer... xP But I'll check some of the new things out myself. I was also thinking that maybe we could give out emblems not only for games won, but also things like having really good drawings, or funny drawings, or people who seemed to always be on, etc. Just a thought.

I haven't been on in a while either, but it doesn't seem to be working now. I'm hoping that's not just the case for me, else I'm probably screwed unless I can get my dad or mom/stepdad to loan me their computers.

As for the emblem suggestion, that would be a lot of stuff to keep track of. Not only that, but we already have other drawing competitions on here, and if people want an emblem for drawing, they can just enter those. I think we're better off with a single Participant emblem.

I'm definitely up for a participant Emblem. I personally don't mind other emblems but Roswell does have a point with hard to keep track of. Remember last time we didn't issue a 1st/2nd/3rd emblem because we didn't decide what would qualify to be rewarded 1st/2nd/3rd.

Anyways, who's gonna design the emblem?

EDIT: Another big thing that came to mind:

I have seen some people using wordlists that they simply copy-paste at the start of each round. The wordlist includes simple and common words in the series like "town city fire ice ball etc.", and since the game tells you when you're close/got part of the phrase people can get the answer without even having to see the drawing. I'm not big on unfair advantages, so my suggestion would be to make it a rule that people can't use wordlists, and if they do they'll be booted, and if anyone continues we may have to limit the guesses, which is possible and all.

Oh right... Well then, go ahead and scrap my idea. xD As for the other emblems, there should deifnitely be a partcipation one... But then, wasn't there like emblems for winning one game, and then if you won five games? That's how the emblems I recieved went. I probably can't make the emblems, since I have no emblem-making skills. Dx

Roswell, I think limiting the guesses and banning people that use the lists is a good idea.

I wouldn't mind making the emblem again. Like I said I don't mind if any extra emblems are given out but I want to make sure that if we do have extra emblems, someone has to keep track of the winnings. (Because someone may say they have won 5 games but they might just be saying that). If I do go through with 1 session of team iSketch I might make a Team Emblem, best co-op or something

So I've revamped the first post but I need help with emblems and their names and descriptions (Cause I'm all out of names and descriptions at the moment)

Official Emblem

So I looked at some of the past iSketch events so we can either have both or one:
We can either have "Best Sketch" like Jake suggested. Or we can do what has done in previous iSketch events which is "Won a Game of iSketch" or we can have both

Just from team session I've got a Team Emblem

I definitely think either green or yellow should be for winning a certain amount of games, either one or more. But they would need a way to prove they'd won... If we do that, it could be called something like 'iWon iSketch' or something. The participation and team emblems are great, and some descriptions should be 'you participated in the PC Get-Together 2011 iSketch event' or 'you participated in the team version of blablabla'. What do you mean by "Best Sketch"?

iWon iSketch is such a genius name - It so works xD
Well for iSKetch games to be official we need one of us to be there. When I do this at other forums I usually take a screenshot of who won. But of course we could trust them since keeping track does take effort xD

Also for best draw we could pick our favorite draws from iSKetch, doen't have to be the most artistic, but can also be a clever way to show the message.
