for battling, do you feel the item clause is justified? ( no two pokemon can have the same item on any one team) or unnecessary and even hurtful to the competitive spirit?

That clause is pretty much defunct and was only included because it was a pointless rule in the Battle Tower.

I play under that clause because it just doesn't feel right

The clause didnt affect me any way as I never really had to use two of the same item. I equip my pokemon with items that will boost the effectiveness of their moves or their weakest stat. And seeing as your supposed to have a varied team rather than the same types with the same weaknesses, i've never needed two of the same item at all equipped onto my team.

Well that Item Clause was only discovered in the Battle Tower. I don't think people really follow it much for Wifi Battles. I don't because sometimes using the same item is a stragety you need in order to do the right moves in wifi battles.

Well, i can't understand this rule, because what should be so hard, when your foe has 2 or more same items? It only makes the team building harder..

I never use it. It's kinda pointless anyways. Why take away the liberty of two Pokémons in one's team of having identical items?

well when you use item and hax item clause, then their are seemingly not enough useful items for an effective team
