I decided I'd give photography a go. Armed with my father's not-the-best digital camera, I went for a walk around the lake. These are some of my favourite shots.
    August 6:
    A tree
    A birdie on a wall
    Shrubbery
    A palmy tree
A tree that didn't agree with Winter
    Duckies
    A weed
    The big magpie
    The same big magpie
    The same same big magpie

    August 7:
    The Lake
    Weeds on the bank
    Ducks were in number today
    Lake grass
    Magpie
    Magpie on Fence
    Magpie on the phoneline (Zzzt)
    Gallah and Cockatoo
    Tree
    Eggy thingies
Birdies (The sun was glaring down, so I took a guess as to where it was)
    Sunset Tree
Cat - It's my kitty cat

So yeah, tell me what you think. I'll try to get some up at least once a week.

They are all fine, but one thing you should be targeting the most is the composition. The photo of a ducks and the weed have an all-right composition; the water shows how much of a range the ducks have, but the focus isn't exactly set right. You have the idea of the focus, but it's not there. I think it would look better if the trees and the land at the top were excluded from the picture, it would bring the focal point more to the ducks. Plus, the reflection of the water would already show that there are trees near the scenery.

But I understand that getting the composition right in nature photography can be quite difficult since nature has so many patterns, lines, and texture and also something that are just "in the way" like evidence of domesticity (i.e. houses). Nature photography is something to carefully maneuver around, but at the same time, having fun experimenting on.

I think nature photography may be your kind of thing if you like watching things and being outside. Keep it up. :D

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind next time.

Yeah. I tried to exclude some things when I was doing it (i.e. The big magpie was right outside the tennis courts.).

Thank you. The reason I decided to try something like this was to get outside. :P

EDIT: I have some more pictures now. I tried my best for some of them, but the sun in that position made it difficult, not to mention the distance of the ducks compared to the camera lens. =P
