    Plot
    Spoiler:

you said on the other thread that this is based in ancient greece, but how could that be if the history of team galactic and team rocket are given? did everything regress? and does this mean there are pokeballs and pokecenters, or are we SOL on all of that stuff?

    (I'll try it, why not?)

    Full Name: Bryan Drake Allister

    Age: 18 (Born on August 1, 1991)

    Gender: Male

Appearance: Bryan is tall and slender, standing at 6'1" and weighing a mere 145 pounds. He has medium-length light brown hair that he often styles with gel. When the sun shines on it, it vaguely resembles a lion's mane. His skin tone is unnaturally pale, but it looks strangely beautiful in the moonlight. Although he isn't very satisfied with his facial features, they are actually quite attractive. His cobalt blue eyes shine like a clear summer sky. A slightly pointed nose and a somewhat handsome smile complete these features. As for clothing, Bryan prefers to dress lightly, since he grew up in a warm, moist climate. Formal suits and polo shirts disgust him. He could never envision himself wearing any of the two. Instead, he wears a casual black or gray t-shirt that hugs his torso. Tighter shirts have always been his preference. His black leather jacket, which he had won in a bet not too long ago, is his favorite possession as far as clothing goes. Because it's relatively light, he often wears it even while traveling in sweltering heat, mostly due to him having a fondness for warmer regions. Most of the time, he wears faded blue jeans with a thick black belt. He cut a small loop in the belt and attached a strong bonding system to fasten his satchel to it, eliminating the need to strap it over his shoulder. His brown satchel is surprisingly spacious despite its small exterior. It has six different sections, each serving a different purpose. He uses one section for empty Poke Balls, one for medicines, one for stones and other items, one for food, one section for his Pokémons' Poké Balls, and one section for important items. Running shoes bathed in a military gray and black color complete the ensemble.

Personality: Since infancy, Bryan has always exhibited characteristics of ambition and determination. He is always looking for new ways to become stronger, both physically and mentally. Wilderness survival is one of his strongest points. He is rather intelligent for his age, and he applies various strategies to every battle he fights, whether it be using his opponents' attacks against them or using the environment around him to his advantage. Although Bryan is headstrong and stubborn, he also has a passionate and caring side, especially when he sees a person in need. He believes that the satisfaction and encouragement of others is the key to becoming stronger mentally. Bryan also has a good sense of humor, often mocking his opponents' battling techniques and occasionally cracking jokes. Although when he defeats an opponent, he often congratulates them for trying. Even though he has a wild side, he is very loyal and kind to his Pokémon, and treats them like family, not just comrades.

History: Bryan was born a few minutes after midnight on the first of August, 1991, in Pewter City. He was born prematurely, about two weeks early. His mother tragically died while giving birth to him due to unforeseen complications. This left Bryan's father, an archaeologist employed at Mt. Moon, to take care of him. Even without his mother, Bryan still enjoyed a normal infancy and toddlerhood. He became unusually interested in books, and he read almost constantly. This allowed him to develop an extensive vocabulary and a sharp mind early in his childhood. When he was five years old, he received his first Pokémon, courtesy of his father, a baby Gible. Since Bryan had a love for Pokémon at such a young age, his father knew that Bryan would train it and develop a close friendship with it. Bryan played with it every day and won his first Trainer battle not long after. Bryan's father told him that he had hoped that Bryan would become a Pokémon Trainer, and that he was proud of his son's early success. At the tender age of six, tragedy struck yet again when Bryan's father was killed when part of the cave collapsed. In the wake of grief, Bryan decided to become a Pokémon Trainer and travel the world in search of new challenges, like his father once told him. He has been to all of the regions, except for Isshu.

    Pokémon: Gabite

    Species: Gabite

    Level 31

    Gender: Male

Nickname: None (Bryan does not nickname his Pokémon)

Moveset: Rock Slide, Dragon Claw, Brick Break, Swords Dance

    Nature: Bold

History: Bryan's Gabite was given to him as a baby Gible as a gift from his father when Bryan was five years old. His father found it wandering around outside Mt. Moon, which was unusual. Sinnoh Pokémon were rarely found in Kanto. Gible and Bryan developed a very close relationship over the years. It later evolved into Gabite during a Trainer battle.

    Pokémon: Staryu

    Species: Staryu

    Level 29

    Nickname: N/A

Moveset: Water Pulse, Recover, Light Screen, Ice Beam

    Nature: Quiet

History: Bryan found a lone Staryu floating on a pond one day near Cerulean City. He decided to catch it, since he wanted to add another Pokémon to his team. Like him and Gabite, Bryan and Staryu share a close relationship.

    Pokémon: Skarmory

    Species: Skarmory

    Gender: Male

    Level 29

Moveset: Fly, Sandstorm, Dark Pulse, Drill Peck

    Nature: Adamant

History: Bryan received his Skarmory from a retired Pokémon Trainer while traveling in Ecruteak City. The Trainer sensed great talent in the young Bryan, and presented him with a test. Always eager to overcome a challenge, Bryan accepted. The test was to defeat the Trainer in a one-on-one battle, with only one Pokémon. The match ended when a Pokémon either fainted or was afflicted with a status condition. The Trainer sent out Skarmory, while Bryan called out Staryu. The battle seemed evenly matched at first, but Staryu was able to match Skarmory's speed and surprise it with an Ice Beam from behind, freezing it and therefore ending the battle. The Trainer commended Bryan's efforts, and presented him with the Skarmory as a reward.

RP Sample: Warm shafts of sunlight fell over the tall buildings of Vermillion City, casting shadows on the streets and sidewalks. The day was ending, but the time of day didn't fare the mass amounts of tourists. Bryan Allister was surrounded by bustling marketplaces, most of them selling local specialties.

"Even at sunset, this place is still packed," Bryan said to himself. He admired the nearby beaches and harbors and compared them to the dull stone of Pewter City. However, Bryan had no time for a vacation. He had made the long trek from Pewter to Vermillion in response to a distress call broadcasted on the news. This call was apparently looking for young Trainers to participate in a mission regarding the eradication of Team Rocket. The distress call did not explain the details of the mission, except for the instruction to go to Vermillion City for a briefing on the mission. Bryan was unsure of where to go, but he decided that surely more than one Trainer had responded to the call, therefore he would follow anyone that looked like a Trainer. He then decided that that method would be inaccurate. Instead, he decided to wait in the center square, predicting that an announcement would be made. He took a seat on a nearby bench and waited for an announcement of where to go for the briefing.

    Character Name
    : Diamond Belmonte

    Gender: Male
    Age: 14
Appearance: Diamond is a rather short fourteen year old, standing at 5'0. His skin is deeply tanned, almost golden. You can't really see his dark red hair, which is short and spikes up a little in the front. Below his hair are fierce blue eyes that make you recoil in fear every time you look into them. He always wears a confident smile. Diamond has a very fit body.

You will often see Diamond in a suit. He likes to wear brown button downs and black shirts. His pants are usually a dark brown. He is usually seen wearing black shoes. He also wears glasses. In his shirt pocket, he carries a Pocket Manual to the Outdoors and his iPod.

The kid always wears a backpack. Usually, the pack is black. This pack holds his laptop, his water, and his clothing.

Personality: For a fourteen year old, he is an incredibly hard working person. He does normal work and then goes out of his way to do extra, and he does it well. He is credited by his teacher for having a strong work ethic in everything he does.

For example, he works hard in sports. He loves participating in outdoor sports, such as soccer, football, skiing, and cross country. His other passion is music, in which he excels in the trumpet. He is a high caliber student as well.

Diamond is a very friendly kid. He is always looking to make new friends and succeeds in doing so. He befriends people within 5 seconds of meeting them. Another reason he befriends people easily is because of his humble attitude. He doesn't brag about his vast array of accomplishments.

One of his flaws is that he is an impacient person. If people don't get what he is saying the first time, he starts to yell at them. He has a hard time when he doesn't get his way.

History: Diamond was born in the Hoenn region on Mt. Chimney. He lived there with his older brother and his Mom. His family was divorced. He had a decent childhood. Nothing too out of the ordinary happened to him. He went to Lavaridge Elementary School and moved on to Meteor Falls Junior High School. There, he became popular because people there respected his sociability, athleticness, and his high academics.

Shortly after his eighth grade year, he was to move on to Legendary Academy in Sinnoh, a very prestigious academy for the gifted. During that summer, his mom died. That left his older brother in charge. His older brother said, "Dude, you're not going to Sinnoh. Bad things are happening their. Team Rocket has stolen Dialga and Palkia. It's too dangerous for you." With that, Diamond ran out of the house. He remembered learning about those pokemon in Lavaridge. Dialga controlled time; Palkia controlled space. Diamond would protect the world, even if it could cost him his life.

    Quilla

    Character Name: Quilla Gafnit

    Gender: Female

    Age: 17

    Appearance:

[PokeCommunity.com] Journey to the Past OOC

[PokeCommunity.com] Journey to the Past OOC
<-- What her hat looks like

Stands 5'2" tall and boasts an almost hourglass-y "pear" shaped frame, as she boasts awkwardly huge hips. This is perhaps exaggerated by her clothing. Quilla wears a strapless, highlighter yellow jumper; the bottom part is like shorts, which are poofy and rounded, making it appear as if her upper legs were giant balloons, and comes to a tight drawstring close a few inches above her knee. The neck of the jumper rides just below her collarbone and is lined in black. On either side of the neck of her jumper, there is a plastic, cartoon-like skull sewn on: one boasting an angry face, and the other a sad one. There are in memorial of two pokemon she loved as a child. Around her waist is a tight black strip on the jumper and also a neon pink belt which is too loose. Her hair is mostly gathered up in a poofy yellow hat that matches her jumpsuit, but her bangs are left loose, with a strand on either side long enough to reach a few inches past her shoulders. Her bangs are pinned out of her way on the left side with a neon pink star-shaped clip. Her hair is a vibrant purple color, the sort that seems as if it would look wild under a blacklight. Three small brown freckles are apparent under her right eye, arranged in an upside down triangle. Various other odd blotches of freckles can also be seen on her neck, shoulders, and legs, though the pattern is never consistent. Quilla's eyes are rounded and somewhat large; they are blue. She also wears a pair of opaque tights that match the color of her hair, and over them a loose pair of "Drifloon shoes"; a pair of light-as-air sneakers that are colored to resemble a Drifloon, complete with a yellow X on the front of the toes. Each of Quilla's wrists are weighed down with bangles of various widths and neon colors; the only thing that they have in common is that they are for the most part too loose on her skinny wrists. On each of Quilla's upper arm is a strip of fabric, like a wrist-band, that is neon pink and has the badges she has won sewn on.

Personality: Easily distracted, naive, quirky-- does a lot of things that seem inexplicable to others(such as painting her Pokeballs with nail polish) but make perfect sense to her in a backwards sort of way. Often acts upon a whim. Friendly, but sometimes easily annoyed or confused. When overly confused, Quilla tends to panic. She sees her Pokemon as people equal to her, and becomes infuriated if she sees others mistreat them.

History: Born in Violet City, Johto. Quilla spent most of her days there with her Father, Issac Gafnit. Her Mother, Melanie Gafnit, vanished when she was four without a trace. Only Issac seems to have an idea as to where Melanie could have gone, but he pretends not to know in order to protect Quilla. Issac, a retired trainer himself, spends the majority of his time inventing new kinds of shoes to market to young trainers in the hope of supporting himself and his family. However, financial troubles left behind by Quilla's mother are piled against him and keep him constantly in debt. This caused Quilla to begin her Pokemon journey when she turned eleven: she helped around the house as much as she could before finally insisting upon becoming a walking advertisement and saleswoman for Issac's designs. While the Gafnit shoe brand is not yet famous, the few that have swear to it for it's unique and cute designs and outstanding comfort. The shoes are especially popular amoungst children. Quilla carries a backpack full of shoes with her at all times.
As a child, Quilla had few worries other than not being supplied with the same comforts and expensive toys as other children. She happily grew beside her Father's Growlithe and Umbreon, the two pokemon commemorated on her clothing, who were injured and grew sick after her Mother vanished. Melanie's absense did not shake Quilla for long, as many believed it would; in fact, she came out of the experience with more optimism and cheer than ever before. However, she did develop a number of quirky habits due to her Father's lax parenting, and seems to have a short attention span and an inability to grasp what is appropriate to say or do socially. Quilla has never given up on the hope that, one day, she will find her Mother and be able to impress her with brilliant Pokemon. By striving to become the best trainer she can be, she hopes not only to make Gafnit Shoes a famous brand, but to catch the attention of her mother as well.

RP Sample: The stream rippled quietly near her feet; the sun shone down upon the water, reflecting the area with little dots of brilliant light. Quilla stretched her arms above her head and yawned, then let them drop behind her into the grass. She stretched her feet before her and looked at the sky, smiling. Quilla considered how delicious the sandwich that she had just eaten had been, closing her eyes and letting the sun shine down on her face. Thinking about the sandwich made her think about the cucumbers that had been used to make it...which, in turn, made her visualize her Father's garden all the way back home in Violet City. Next, she wondered how things were back in the city, and soon Quilla was lost in thought. She opened her eyes to stare at the great blue sky, and noticed a pidgey streak through a cloud. Quickly, Quilla sat up, and looked to her left where Totodile had been eating moments before.
    "Totodile, look, a-- Totodile?"
Where the Pokemon had been, now there was simply a patch of smooshed grass.
"Totodile? Totodile! Where are you?" Quilla called, shifting around and looking all directions nervously. She finally jumped to her feet, glancing this way and that in a tizzy. Finally Quilla's eyes snagged on a blue shape on the water down the stream: her Totodile laying on it's back and peddling it's feet, enjoying the cool water. Quilla sighed with relief.

    Pokémon:

    Species: Totodile
    Level: 30
    Nickname: None
    Gender: Male
Moveset: Bite, Cut, Water Gun, Flail
    Nature: Jolly
Description: Totodile was Quilla's starter Pokemon. He loves to eat and play tricks on his trainer; but despite the distress that he often causes her, he loves her very much. Totodile enjoys swimming to find things, especially if they are shiny or interesting colors. Very hyperactive.
Extra: Holds an Everstone, one of two given to Quilla by her Father.

    Species: Haunter
    Level: 28
    Gender: Male
Moveset: Mean Look, Lick, Curse, Hypnosis
    Nature: Serious
Description: Met as a Ghastly in the forest. Quilla caught Haunter by complete accident; he startled her while she was looking for Totodile one night, and in total panic, she hurled the first thing she could grab at Haunter's head: a Great Ball that her Father had given her for good luck. It caught him, and while Quilla was(and is) still scared of Haunter, she felt bad for capturing a Pokemon she didn't want and thought that he probably had feelings too. Thus she decided to raise him and attempt to build a friendship. Quilla is extremely nervous around Haunter, but despite his constant annoyance with her he has become somewhat protective of her. Haunter enjoys taking naps, and finds anyone who is too noisy or hyperactive to be extremely irritating.

    Species: Dratini
    Level: 30
    Gender: Female
Moveset: Twister, Wrap, Dragon Rage, Thunder Wave
    Nature: Shy
Description: Dratini was given to Quilla as a mystery egg when she and one of her best friends from Violet City found it in the Safari Zone. Quilla cared for the egg lovingly and, finally, it hatched into a very shy Dratini. This Dratini is smaller than most, and tends to hide behind Quilla whenever a particularly loud or big pokemon is present. Despite this, Dratini will do anything for Quilla, even if scared or nervous while doing it.
Extra: Holds an Everstone, one of two given to Quilla by her Father.

    Character Name: Caesar Nicci
    Gender: Male
    Age: 16

Appearance: Caesar is an olive skinned adolescent. His hair is dark and is naturally all over the place, but he usually keeps it in spikes with Gel. He has a scar under his right eye where it seems as though a blade cut into him. His eyes are hazel, which are fixed in a moody aloft way much of the time. He is five feet, eleven inches. Caesar is slim, but is definitely fit.

Caesar usually has a jogging suit on, as he once ran competitively. He wears white sneakers of standard make. He also wears a satchel, where he keeps his travel gear such as his laptop, and pokeballs.

Personality: Caesar is usually reserved. He doesn't have many friends, because usually it takes a lot to earn his trust. Once you have Caesar's trust, you have a good friend and ally. As previously mentioned, he is reserved, and calm, even when facing adversity and problems. Some people may miss-label him as pretentious, but that is because they don't know him well enough.

Caesar is very intelligent, and that sometimes alienates people, because he would rather listen than talk. He may throw a pokeball up in there while listening to someone, which may make the person think he is not paying attention.
He does not like attracting attention, and in a crowded room, Caesar may go unnoticed. At social gatherings he is often to the side, with his eye on whomever seems the most interesting. Though he won't approach them, if they approach him he does his best to be polite and see how interesting they can be.

History: Caesar was born in Cerulean City during a city wide blackout. His father went to investigate, and came back with a caught Elekid. It had seemed as though A mother Electabuzz had gone mad and almost destroyed the Power Plant. He and Elekid grew up together. When Caesar turned 10, he moved to Fuchsia City, where Caesar's father could work in the Fuchsia City gym. His father worked in that gym completely non-stop, and at 15, Caesar's mother could no longer take it and left the region. After his mother's leave, Caesar worked hard with Elekid as a distraction. At 16, he decided against his dream of becoming a gym leader, he went to the Safari Zone, to catch some more Pokemon before heading out on his own journey. He had no luck till he ran into a bush and ran into bad luck. He ran into a herd of Scyther. With much experience, Elekid came to his aid, but not before one Scyther slashed Caesar's face. After the ensuing battle, the rest was history.

    RP Sample:
Caesar looked up from his notepad, it was another cool day in the city and he was laying on a lawn chair. He stood up, ripped a note from the pad and stuck it to his front door. He did a couple stretches until he felt limber. He looked at the door and felt a little apprehension, but he figured this was any good a time as any to leave for his journey. He gathered his property before him: pokeballs, his laptop, a spare jogging suit, miscellaneous hygiene-maintenance items, and his cellular phone. He put all of these items into his satchel, and then strapped it on. He checked his waist to see that his two pokeballs were firmly attached before setting out the city.
Caesar jogged throughout the city, keeping his eyes forward and mind concentrated on not focusing on all the people of the town. Throughout his six years in Fuchsia, he had gotten to know his neighbors' quirks and nuances, and though he didn't speak to them much, he still felt like he knew them, and the parting felt all too real. On his way out, he noticed the proud Fuchsia City Gym, gleaming like never before. He saw various trainers in ninja gear training. He almost stopped and went in, but decided it was too hard and continued right out the city.

    Pokémon:

    Species: Elekid
    Level: 25
    Nickname: N/A
Moveset: Swift, Shockwave, Quick Attack, Lightscreen
    Nature: Naughty
Description: Was given to Caesar as an Elekid. The two have grown up together. Elekid's mischievous ways complement Caesar's reserved attitude, and it usually does things to lighten the mood and make Caesar laugh. Elekid sometimes walks with Caesar, though not while he jogs. The two are usually inseperable.

    Species: Scyther
    Level:26
    Nickname: Blade
Moveset: Fury Cutter, Quick Attack, Wing Attack, Agility
    Nature: Hasty
Description: Scyther doesn't like being tamed. Though it respects Caesar's wishes, it is still getting to know Caesar. It is very fast, and usually tries to do things before Caesar can get a word or command out. It has several battle scars it wears proudly.

    Character Name: Kerrigan "Johto" Nios
    Gender: Female
    Age: 18

Appearance: Kerri is average in height, only about 5 feet tall. Her skin is pale white, and her body is entirely hairless, except for the short, fire-red hair on her head. Her eyes are dull grey, and sparkle when the light hits them. She is lightly muscled, and runs as a hobby.

Kerri wears faded green fatigues and tight black tank tops. She wears running shoes, white with a rainbow stripe along the sides. Her hands are covered by black leather gloves, and she often rubs her thumbs over her index fingers, leaving the gloves slightly worn. She wears a black cap, a souvenir from a previous adventure. She carries a red duffel bag like a backpack, where she stores her items.

Personality: Kerri is highly out-going, enjoying meeting and interacting with people and Pokemon. She has a dry wit, teasing and tormenting people as jokes. She is unapologetic and brutally honest, which prevents her from having long-term friends.

Kerri has a short attention span, often staring off into space or wandering away from things when bored. Conversations with her rearely last for longer than a few minutes, and tend to leave people confused.

History: Kerrigan was born in Saffron City, and her family moved to Veilstone when she was six. She interned at the Pokemon Day Care in Solaceon when she was ten, after expressing interest in becoming a Pokemon Breeder. She received her first Egg there, and left at age 12. She went to Goldenrod with her father at age 16, and was left behind accidentally.

She stuck out on her own, eventually living with a couple who lived near Ilex Forest. They nicknamed her "Johto" based on her accent. A friend of theirs asked them for help with a Pinsir, and she used her Breeding skills to help shape it up, eventually taking it to the Day Care and getting an Egg from it. She traveled with this friend, joining a group he was affiliated with. After only a month, she left the group, but kept the hat that they gave her.

She traveled through Johto, and later Kanto, offering her services as a "Training Expert and Consultant" to help trainers raise Pokemon. She also raided trees for Berries and Apricorns, selling them at shops. Her parents never found her, and as far as she is concerned, they never even looked. She has all but forgotten about them, and she enjoys her new lifestyle.

    Pokémon:

    Species: Pinsir
    Level: 30
    Nickname: Powerbug
Moveset: Brick Break, X-Scissor, Strength, Earthquake
    Nature: Impish
Description: Kerri was asked to train a Pinsir for a friend, as it was uncooperative. She trained and bred the Bug, keeping the egg for herself. This hatched into Powerbug. Powerbug is incredibly strong, but lacks intelligence or forethought. His standard plan is to charge headlong into things, and is Kerri's main offensive force. He enjoys playing with other Pokemon, but is often too rough.

    Species: Meowth
    Level: 30
    Nickname: Moneyhat
Moveset: Pay Day, Faint Attack, Cut, Hypnosis
    Nature: Jolly
Description: Moneyhat was Kerri's first Pokemon, an egg she obtained from the Day Care in Solaceon. They traveled together, honing their skills in battle. Moneyhat prefers not to fight, usually only providing backup in double battles. However, her Hypnosis, Cut, and Pay Day all serve Kerri well in her job.

SU's are closed for the time being. However, you will get a spot later on in the RP. You're approved, but I already posted the first part of the RP. I'll PM you as to when you can join in.

Just some random note, my character is nicknamed "Johto" because of her accent, but those are hard to show. I probably won't render it phoenetically that often, as it looks pretty silly.

Just pretend she has a Texas or Brooklyn accent, whichever you prefer.

Also, just re-read Raven's SU. She and her pokemon are annoyed by are afraid of loud hyperactive things. This looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

    Buwahahahahahhaa!
    I know, right? =D

Hee...x3 Luckily, Quilla herself is mainly only afraid of ghost types as opposed to loud noises, but I'm sure you could find ways to freak her out regardless.

    OoC: Oh, uh oh, I just remembered...I'm going to be gone at camp tomorrow, until the 12th. Then I'll be here until the 17th. I hope I won't get kicked for being slow! @_@;

Quilla seems kinda ditzy, lmao. All humor aside, I won't kick you :)
