Just curious because lot of Yu-Gi-Oh! talk and Magic has just unleashed a bombshell on the card gaming world and I haven't heard any talk.
Time Spiral is upon us, and it will be changing a LOT of things at the Friday Night Magic scene by trying to unite new school fans with the old school fans. What they did is in this new set they printed a regular set really which is suppose to feature 301 cards in it that have new abilities like Suspend and Split Second but also bring back old abilities like Flanking, Madness, Buyback, Flashback the works! https://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=magic/cardlist/timespiral
But that wasn't even the main meal, this was originally an internet rumor at first but it is indeed true after all since it's all over their official site now and I myself went to the pre-release and had a blast. In Time Spiral they printed a Timeshift set of 121 cards, now what this is, is a mix of Rares, Uncommons and Commons of re-printed cards from Alpha-to-Scourge that look almost exactly the same as they did then only they are black bordered and have a purple Time Spiral logo on them. And these Timeshift cards do not disappoint I mean they went all out from re-printing cards like...well I won't spoil it for you :) https://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=magic/cardlist/timespiral-timeshifted
These time shift cards will replace a common when you crack open a Time Spiral booster. This means you get... 10x Commons, 3x Uncommons, 1x Timeshift Card, 1x Rare and one of those cards as usual in the pack will be foil, so basically they added another aspect of quality to their product.
So...does anyone still play Magic around here?
