Just a quick question about Pokemon Cards.

Do you think I should start buying Pokemon cards again?

I have some rare ones including Rockets Mewtwo EX and Rayquaza.
I also have some shiny Kanto Gym Leaders.

Should I keep building my collection or just stop?

Well, if you plan to start playing, you'll have to keep up with a whole new set- starting September (after the Worlds Tournament in a few days), the only sets allowed in tournament play will be:

Diamond and Pearl
Diamond and Pearl: Mysterious Treasures
Diamond and Pearl: Secret Wonders
Diamond and Pearl: Great Encounters
Diamond and Pearl: Majestic Dawn
Diamond and Pearl: Legends Awakened (released on August 20)

DP-on, as it's called. So you won't be able to use any of your old cards, unfortunately.

Of course, if you just want to collect the cards, then sure, do that. I guess. :/

Are pre DP cards allowed in any tornaments? At least they can be used in friendly games.

Like I said, it starts in September. For now, you can still use the following sets:

Holon Phantoms
Crystal Guardians
Dragon Frontiers
Power Keepers

But no, in tournament play, all of your cards must be in format. It should be allowed in friendly or some league games. Still, a lot of the new cards are really good, so it's definitely worth it to invest in newer sets.

i started collecting when i was seven so most of my cards cant be used.IF u want to play in tornaments/leuges id just get a pre made magestic dawn deck to last longer.
