    My Kanto RomHack Project

Okay so after months of saving up and browsing I finally came across and ordered a new laptop to replace my old one that has been very sluggish plus it's battery barely able to last half an hour now (and I can't find a replace for), along with a digital drawing pad to trying to draw with a mouse or touch pad just doesn't work for me.

The downside is that they won't be here until January.

In the meantime I can at least use my old laptop to familiarize myself with some of the rom hack tools available.

However I would appreciate some advice and warnings about how/where to start and what I should keep an eye out or avoid doing.

Here are the main things I want to do:

    -Expand the KantoDex:
*I want to add the new evolutions and preevolutions to the original 150.
*Add Pokemon from other regions and newer generations.
*Kanto Regional Variants for Pokemon from Johto and Hoenn while still making the original forms available.
**I will be taking a shoot at designing my own regional forms such as the Roggenrola line, making it Fire/Rock type as well as the elemental monkeys, making them Fighting, Dark and Psychic. I'm also thinking of giving a Kanto form to Quagsire but make him similar to Shellos in which it's form AND typing changes depending on it's location. Like the ones found near the Power Plant are Ground-Electric.
NOTE: I'm not planning on adding in ALL 898 Pokemon, at least not now, but just enough to make it possible to have full teams of a chosen typing,

    -Alter characters, like their teams.
*I want to make the rival's team vary a bit more, a team that would fit what he's dealing with at that point of the story. Like say he picks Charmander and gets a Mankey to deal with Brock.
*I also want to alter some of the gym leaders teams to help counter a player's type advantages they might bring into battle.

    -Things I want to remove:
*I want to remove the game trade floor in the Pokemon Center and replace with the Pokemart if possible.
*The evolution block without needing the National Dex unloked.
    *The Safari Zone time/step limit.

-Add new characters, areas and events.
*Characters from the manga special, like Yellow and Green (Leaf)
    *My own Ocs.
*PokeManiac Shops. To replace the Pokemart, I want to add these in and have them offer a variety of items, like berries and etc, that are either very useful or seem worthless at first but them can be traded for better stuff in other areas. Like TMs or evolution iteams.
*PokeRides/HM alternatives. I'm thinking of just making Key Items to replace most Hms.
    *Add in the Johto region.
*New areas for Kanto, like a forest between Celadon and Saffron City.
*The gym leaders actually out and doing things. Like say Blaine is looking for something in the Pokemon Mansion. Or Koga is in the Safari Zone for survival training.
*A throne for the Champion Room. (Ever since I say in SM and Generations I wanted to see it in every one.
*Title challengers. Again ever since SM and that one fan animation by YT Pedro Araujo I want to add that feature in.

*Choice depended/triggered events/outcomes? Sorry don't know how to really word it in a few words but I want to have certain events happen depending on a choice made or action taken. Like say if you lose this battle or say yes/no to a question then you'll battle Oak instead of Blue for the Champion title.

Looking over all this, it is a lot but that's why I want some advice on what's a good place to start first and take things one step at a time.
