I was bored yesterday so I decided to swap the colours of some random Pokemon.
By no means are these supposed to be "impressive", I was just bored.

These are really cool. Your black Espeon is really well done, unfortunately the Umbreon doesn't look as good, since Umbreon's one of my favorite Pokemon.

So you switched the colors of evo with pre evo and vice versa. Nice concept. And they are lovely. Makes me wish some of thoughs where colored like that.

I wish I could say they're great, or "lovely", but they're just recolors. Few people have a hard time making these which is why they're generally frowned upon in more elitist (lol?) Pixel Art communities. Try to make sprites that require genuine effort, and not recolors.

You should try making scratch sprites if you want a challenge (for some people scratch spriting is really hard;))

Still they're quite cool.

you seem to have recoloration down. you didn't mess up their shading... Now lets see some more advanced sprites like edits! Try changing the poses ever so slightly where you're forced to change the shading. Or maybe start doing some simple fusions... either way, once you get pretty good with editing, then, as keitaro10 suggested, go on to scratching! By then you should have a better idea of how spriting styles work!

Thanks for the info, but I did just say I did this out of boredom. I never intended to really get into pixel art.

EDIT: Ok, I know that I said I wasn't going to get into pixel art. But, I thought I might as well try to edit a Pokemon sprite... so, I did.

I don't expect criticism and nothing you say can offend me, because I know that I'm not a pixel artist.

those are very nicely done! i commend you on your excellent numel repose!!! you did a nice job, and got the shading down pretty good in my oppionion! These are excellent, and i hope you make more!

Uh, what did you do, exactly? (The light source is coming from the wrong direction and the sprite is facing the wrong way, just btw).

From the looks of it you reversed the Numel's head and added two paint spot's as the head's shading is exactly the same as it used to be as it is all on the same parts.

You did it well all you have to do is remember to keep the lighting coming from the top left.

hm...didnt notice that... i only looked at it briefly...anyhow, just flip the sprite around, and redo the shading on the body, since the head's shading will be correct once you flip it...

I don't know anything about which way the light is suppose to be coming from and I only did these cause I thought it might be fun.

I am not a pro pixel artist and I never intend to be, I'm a writer... and I'm pretty sure any pixel artist who tried to write something for fun wouldn't have a fun time getting criticised for all their mistakes.

Pixel art isn't for me, so I'm going to stick with writing.

It's not the fact that someone (who shall remain nameless) is starting to p*** me off. I simply don't want to get into pixel art, maybe next time I'm bored I'll do some more... but by no means will it become a "profession" of mine.
