This seems an interesting concept for a subforum so I thought I'd give it a go. Seems infodumping about myself is the way to go so here I go!
So yeah, I'm Alex. 20 years old and studenting my way through university in the UK, to be specific I'm doing a course on media at the University of Leeds. I was born down in Derbyshire and still live there out of term time. My hope is to some day become a Digital Graphics designer or a Website Designer.
In terms of PC I'm a fan of writing and such, so I'm usually to be found hanging around the RPCorner or Writer's Lounge forums. While I've not managed much beyond writing short stories on the "pure" writing front I've been taking part in forum roleplays for about 4-5 years now. I've just started D&D as well and I'm enjoying that a lot. Somehow becoming a published author and making enough off it to actually live off and make it my job would be a dream for me but with my attention span and motivation issues I doubt it'll ever happen.
I've been a fan of pokemon ever since I got a gameboy colour and a copy of pokemon yellow for Christmas many years ago. I've played at least one from all the sets of main games since then and still happily play to this day, though recently I've grown to find playing the games regularly a bit too easy and so enjoy them through Nuzlocke challenges. Depending on the day, the weather and my mood my favourite pokemon is either Umbreon, Ninetales, Flygon or Typhlosion.
Bout a year ago I would've said I'm a massive gamer but recently uni has deprived me of the time for long gaming sessions, though I do still play ARMA2 regularly with a group of guys and I'm looking forwards to picking up the new Assassins Creed for myself as an early Christmas present in the near future.
My music tastes tend to lean more towards Rock and Metal than most things, though I'm regularly finding little bits of classical/acoustic/pop/etc music that I like those are the only two where I like most of the genre. I've also discovered a recent liking for J-Rock (Japanese Rock) and Anime soundtracks.
Recently I've picked up caving as a hobby; I wouldn't quite call myself a Caver yet but I'm learning. I'm also a qualified, if slightly rusty, Diver and it's pretty rare for me to go on holiday somewhere without checking out what's lurking a bit deeper down. Other than what's already been mentioned hobby wise I enjoy martial arts, reading, swimming, browsing through reddit, airsofting and wandering aimlessly with some good music going.
Aaaanndddddd that's about all I can think of. Lot of information to dump on a forum but beyond the obvious of not giving really personal details out I've never been one to assume everyone online is a big bad villain out to stalk and kill me.
